Chris Touchberry’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Chris Touchberry. Check out our conversation below.

Chris, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity. Energy can be fluid and is hard to control. Intelligence is nice to have, but integrity goes farther.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a technology enthusiast and NC State Wolfpack alumni. I started my business in late 2015, to help folks in need of a computer they couldn’t get elsewhere. After nearly 10 years in business, I am enjoying life more than ever, trying to make sure I do right by my wife, son, family, friends, and customers.

My passion is learning about new technologies so that I can better help people understand technology.

Top Flight Computers is based in Fuquay-Varina North Carolina and designs award-winning custom built computers, focusing on bespoke desktops, SFFs, laptops, rackmount workstations, and gaming PCs.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents. You have to put in the work in order to get what you want.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
In a way, success is blinding. It covers up weaknesses and problems, but it doesn’t necessarily resolve them. Suffering brings things to light that need to be fixed. While it isn’t a fun process, it is necessary for long-term growth and success. Nature uses fire to both clean out undergrowth, and start new life.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes! I have found great success in being my real self.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. How do you know when you’re out of your depth?
When someone asks a question that I don’t have the answer to. Simple as that.
