Bearta, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Bearta Alchacar, founder of NC Vibes, a platform dedicated to connecting communities through unforgettable events and experiences across North Carolina. My passion lies in bringing people together-whether it’s through cultural festivals, live music, food events, or unique pop-up gatherings that showcase the heart and soul of our state.
What makes NC Vibes special is our commitment to not just hosting events, but curating moments that leave lasting memories and foster real connections. We spotlight local talent, celebrate our community, and give both residents and visitors a true taste of what makes North Carolina vibrant.
Right now, I’m working on expanding NC Vibes’ reach with even more immersive experiences, collaborations with local creators and businesses, and innovative ways to highlight hidden gems in our community. At the core, my mission is simple: to turn “ordinary days” into extraordinary ones by creating spaces where people can connect, celebrate, and belong.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
For me, Bearta Alchacar, the turning point came the moment I set foot in the United States. The first two years were filled with challenges—learning to adapt to a new culture, a new language, and an unfamiliar way of life. Yet through those struggles, I discovered something greater: the quiet generosity of strangers, a society built on mutual respect and the rule of law, and an enduring spirit of possibility. Over time, what once felt daunting became a source of hope, reminding me that in America, perseverance and courage can open doors to dreams once thought impossible.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
The day I graduated from NCSU should have been filled with celebration, yet a shadow lingered—my visa was about to expire. At that crossroads, I faced a choice: return to Lebanon, still marked by the scars of war, or fight for the chance to stay and build the life I had worked so hard for. I refused to let fear or circumstance dictate my future. Even in that moment of uncertainty, hope pushed me forward.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
We create culturally rich community events that are open and accessible to all—even those who might not otherwise have access to ticketed experiences. Our mission is to celebrate and promote cross-cultural respect and understanding, uniting people through art, history, food, and family-friendly experiences.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
**“Some may assume my legacy was built on ease or privilege. What they don’t see is the young immigrant who arrived in the U.S. facing language barriers, cultural divides, and moments of deep uncertainty.
They may not realize how many times I had to fight—to remain, to adapt, and to carve out a place for myself. My legacy is not simply about organizing events; it is about creating spaces where cultures meet, respect takes root, and hope flourishes—even when the journey was anything but easy.
