We’re looking forward to introducing you to Liz Williamson. Check out our conversation below.
Liz, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
A common misconception is that our services are only for high-end clients or that they’re out of most people’s budgets. In reality, the majority of our clients are busy parents or individuals who simply need support in balancing their daily lives. We work with all kinds of budgets and customize our services to fit what each client needs most. Our goal is to give people back their time and make their lives run more smoothly—not to be a luxury reserved for a select few.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Liz Williamson, the founder and CEO of Lifestyle Management Co.™. Over a decade ago, I started this company with the simple idea of helping busy people reclaim their time and peace of mind. What began as me assisting families in my own community has grown into a multi-location brand with an incredible team of personal assistants and organizers across the U.S.
What makes us unique is that we don’t just handle the laundry or run errands—we truly partner with our clients to bring order, balance, and relief into their daily lives. Most of our clients are busy parents, professionals, or individuals juggling multiple roles, and they come to us because they want their homes and schedules to feel lighter, more organized, and more manageable. Our focus is always on tailoring our services to fit each client’s lifestyle and needs.
Right now, I’m especially passionate about growing our licensing program, which gives other entrepreneurs—often moms like myself—the opportunity to open their own Lifestyle Management Co.™ location. It’s amazing to see our mission of creating calmer, more manageable lives for families ripple out into new communities.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
I would have to say my husband. He’s also an entrepreneur, and his encouragement and drive have had such a big influence on me. He’s always reminding me to embrace the joy that comes with building something of your own, even when the challenges feel overwhelming. Watching the way he leads his own business has inspired me to keep pushing forward with mine, and having that kind of support and shared understanding has shaped so much of how I see myself as both a leader and a business owner.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I would have to say COVID was probably one of those times. Overnight, everything shifted, and it felt like we had to start from the ground up. I found myself taking on most of the jobs just to keep things moving, which was exhausting both physically and emotionally. But looking back, that season really pushed me to reimagine the business and lean into what mattered most. It wasn’t easy, but we came out of it stronger, more focused, and ultimately grew in ways I never expected.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies our industry tells itself is that you have to be available to your clients 24/7. The truth is, it’s not only okay—it’s necessary—to set boundaries. When you create that balance, both your team and your clients benefit because you’re showing up refreshed and focused. For me, when the day ends, it’s time to be present with my family and step away from work. That separation is what allows me to keep doing this long term without burning out.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Something I’ve come to understand deeply is that material items are just things—it’s the memories they hold that truly matter. We work with so many clients who struggle to let go of belongings because they’re afraid the memories will disappear with the item. Over time, though, those items can overwhelm a home and take up valuable space that could otherwise bring peace and comfort. Through this work, I’ve learned how freeing it is to separate the memory from the object, and I’ve become a true minimalist because of it.
