Faith Ellis shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Faith, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Gosh, right now I am still an early-riser and always begin my day with my workout and Reiki session. It truly helps to ground me before I begin my day. This tends to be followed by about half an hour of devotions and journaling to get my thoughts out, set my goals, and reinstate my intentions and affirmations.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Faith, I am the founder of The KettleBelle, a fitness brand and online hub for women. The KettleBelle is unique in that our programs primarily focus on kettlebell workouts and our hub aims to provide a well-rounded healthy lifestyle – including mental health. We have resources for mindset and Reiki, meal plans, fitness programs, and a great community of women to support each other. The brand is special to me because I want to see women strong, empowered, and in control of their physical and mental health.
I am working on something BIG for Fall 2026 so I invite everyone to follow us. Spaces will be extremely limited, but it’s an event they aren’t going to want to miss.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I come from a chaotic and abusive childhood. I truly believed, into my early adult years, I would never amount to anything, I wouldn’t make a difference, I was unlovable and unworthy of love. But, I know now, that’s false. We are all worthy, we are all capable, we deserve good things, we just have to work and put in the effort and it will be gifted back to us in time.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I think suffering, again back to my childhood, taught me to be self-reliant and it taught me grit. I know I wouldn’t have learned those things if I had been automatically successful or if everything would have been easy for me. And then what? When things get tough would I just give up? Whereas already knowing tough and knowing I can get through it, if success fails, I know how to hang in there and wait and push for things to turn around. Not everyone knows how to do this and can cope when things don’t line up and they end up tapping out too early.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Oh gosh, there are so many. Probably that they’re helping people but truthfully they’re preying on people. The health and fitness industry will latch onto something so hard – take low-calorie, fat-free, high-protein – as a few examples. Then they make all these “foods” that are presented and positioned as “healthy”, but they fail to mention the other ingredients in them that can be detrimental to overall health.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel at peace when I’m working on The KettleBelle. I love this brand, I love the people, and the partners. I feel at peace when I’m teaching or guiding clients online or planning another event. It feels exactly like where I am meant to be and that’s how I know it’s my purpose. Because no matter how much work there is to do, I don’t feel frustrated, I feel energized.
