An Inspired Chat with McAllister Stowe and Anna Jordan of Raleigh and NYC

We’re looking forward to introducing you to McAllister Stowe and Anna Jordan. Check out our conversation below.

McAllister Stowe and Anna Jordan, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is a normal day like for you right now?
McAllister – I live in NYC and work in finance so my day to day includes that! On the weekends I love to try new restaurants in the city with my friends and let Anna know the places we have to go when she visits :)!

Anna – My day also includes working for a financial company, on the marketing side! The evenings are spent working on my jewelry business and just like McAllister, my weekends always include going out to eat at new and favorite restaurants around Raleigh!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! We are two UNC alums and sorority sisters that started a food instagram our sophomore year of college. We are both from the Winston-Salem, NC area and are huge foodies! We documented our best bites and bevs in college and now that we are in our separate cities post-grad we have continued to share great meals and restaurants up and down the east coast! Anna lives in Raleigh, NC and McAllister lives in NYC. It’s been so fun to continue to share the best bites from our respective cities. And it’s extra special when we are reunited!

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
McAllister – Definitely my dad! He taught me the value of hard work and to always do my best.

Anna – My dad definitely had a big influence on my work ethic and now, despite working a 9-5, I am always eager to work hard at my own projects too!

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
McAllister – I would say to live in the moment and be present. It’s easy to get caught up in a multi year plan but take the time to be present with those around you. Life is short but sweet for certain!

Anna – I would tell myself to enjoy the slow periods, it’s hard not to feel like you aren’t doing enough, but everything gets busy again and it’s important to take time for yourself when you can.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Our friends would say that spending time with our friends and family is really important to us. We love sharing our foodie adventures with them!

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
McAllister – I am most at peace at the beach back in South Carolina! I love the low country and it’s so nostalgic and special for me to be there.

Anna – Definitely in the North Carolina mountains. My now fiancée went to school in Boone and it was always a relaxing getaway compared to the constant go-go-go energy of Chapel Hill.
