Conversations with Lashay Goldman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lashay Goldman.

Hi Lashay, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started in customer service when I was just 15 years old. I then stated bar tending when I turned 21. I loved how much more personable bar tending was, and all the people I’ve gotten to know and love over the years. I worked for a man for 10 years. The best boss a person could have ever asked for. He was like a father to me. I built so many great relationships working there. When he decided to retire I knew I would never find another boss who would treat me the same way, and I loved what I did. So, I decided I would become my own boss. I wanted to open a place that had the same at home feel, a place where people could come together and build relationships the way I was lucky enough to. I got the opportunity to remodle a building. I spent 7 months making my dream come true. From painting to building the bar by hand. My goal was to make it safe, clean, and comfortable. Over the past 3 years I have been slowing adding and molding to make it exactly how i pictured. I have been beyond blessed with my clientele. I have the sweetest customers in Alamance County. The best of the best people. They are the reason I hope to be here a long time. They make work seem like a privilege. My little place could not have turned out any better. I hope to continue to just keep making it better and better.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Financially it has been a struggle. I took my lifesaving to remodle and open this place. That being said not having a fall back for comfort has been hard. At times I do have to scrap by, but it’s worth it.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Hard work, motivation, and the will to succeed.
