Meet Emily Murphy of Property Specific Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Murphy.

Hi Emily, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My husband and I moved to Raleigh in 2011 and instantly fell in love with the area. My career here began in education, serving in the Wake County Public School System. I earned my master’s degree in School Administration from East Carolina University and worked in several leadership roles, including instructional coach and part of the school and district administrative teams.

Eventually, I felt called to make a pivot. I earned my real estate license because I wanted to continue serving families in a meaningful way. I knew a large corporate brokerage was not the right fit for me, which is why the small, boutique structure of Property Specific Realty stood out. It aligned with my values of personal service and doing what is right for the client.

My background in education gives me a unique ability to support families who are relocating and seeking the best fit for both home and schools. Last year, I became a minority partner at Property Specific Realty, and I am proud to help lead a firm that puts people first.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Working as an independent entrepreneur/real estate broker can be demanding, especially when guiding clients through something as high-stakes as buying or selling a home. I take that responsibility seriously. I have worked hard to make my work something I am proud of in every transaction. The greatest reward has been seeing so many clients become lifelong friends. That trust and connection make my work even more fulfilling

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I see my work as a service. When a family is relocating, my goal is to ensure they end up not only in the right house but in the right community. With my background in education, I have been able to guide families through the complexities of a large school system like Wake County and help them feel confident in their decisions. As a listing agent I know how to price and market your home so that no money is left on the table.

I am committed to excellence in every aspect of my work. I have earned advanced certifications in negotiation and recently achieved the Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist and GUILD recognition. Every transaction, regardless of price point or situation, deserves a “white glove” level of service and attention.

What does success mean to you?
To me, success is defined by mindset. It’s about consistently showing up and working hard to deliver your very best. I believe in learning from each experience and constantly looking for ways to refine my skills, and improve. That mindset drives how I serve my clients ensuring they receive thoughtful guidance, careful attention, and the highest level of service in every transaction
