Today we’d like to introduce you to Rita Hines.
Hi Rita, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We are a second generation owned Appliance and Mattress business that was started in 1977 by our father, Mones Saad. He immigrated from Egypt in 1969 to give his family a better life. He could fix anything and started this business originally as Garner TV & Appliance. He always dreamed that my brother, Amgad and I would work with him and together grow his dream. In 2014 my brother and I took ownership, and we try every day to run this business with the integrity and treat each customer like they are family. Our father was a great example of giving back to the community and we continue to do that as well.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are always bumps in the road when it comes to small business ownership. We have been through recessions and a pandemic which were both huge struggles. We have always been taught that you can make mistakes but own them and learn from them. All struggles are a lesson and if you don’t learn anything, you will never grow.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are a family owned and operated Appliance and Mattress retail business in the triangle with two locations, and we also have an Outlet Center located in our Distribution Center. We can help with single items to full kitchens suites, outdoor kitchens and all your mattress needs. We have very high-end live kitchens to stand alone appliances that go in rental apartments. Our sales staff are the most knowledgeable in this field and our delivery staff work for us, this ensures we know the people that are coming into your homes. We not only take care of you before and during the sale, but we also have a great customer service manager who takes care of service needs for you during the time the product is under warranty after the sale. I am especially proud of our ability to give back to our community as our father always did. We just opened a brand-new showroom in North Raleigh with live kitchens and a huge display, but our flagship store in Garner is being remodeled right now and should be ready in early November. This store will be the largest appliance showroom in the triangle, maybe even the state, with the most interactive kitchens.

Come buy some appliances or a mattress! HaHa! We can host events for continuing education for interior designers and architects. We host cooking shows and are happy to have people film here as well. We also can host fundraisers and have hosted many with great success.
