Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherron Kearney.
Sherron, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Sherron Kearney. I grew up in Durham. My husband of 35 years is Wayne Kearney. We live and run our business on Kearney Rd in Wake Forest. Wayne worked for years as a superintendant for a custom home builder, and built over 100 houses in 5 Wake County neighborhoods as well as Treyburn in Durham County. For the last 16 years he has been in residential roofing and storm restoration. Starting in the Raleigh office of an expanding roofing company, he became a top salesman. Before long he was the sales manager. He was recruited to a new roofing company where he helped open new offices and grow the company. When they needed him to, he stepped into the top production position, then coo. In November 2021, at 50 years old, Wayne had a massive stroke. He continued to work full time while doing rehab through 2022. With the help of our three grown children, we started Five Oaks Roofing Plus with a vision to provide the highest quality work and the best customer service possible in January 2023.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Wayne has the knowledge, skills, and fortitude to provide the highest quality work and customer service even though he still struggles with recovering full use of his right side. He’s getting better all the time by persistent hard work and focus.

Five Oaks Roofing Plus is a residential roofer, restoration and exterior company. We have years of experience helping our customers through the insurance claim process and offer several financing options. We do roofing, seamless gutters, gutter guards, siding, stone exteriors, windows, doors, decks, and screen rooms as well as interior repairs after a leak. Our goal is quality work and satisfied customers. We are Owens Corning Prefered Contractors and only use high quality materials. All of our work includes a workmanship warranty. We stand behind every project.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
We are both licensed to fly drones and can do inspections without going on the roof in most cases.
