I started as a teen mom who didn’t have a roadmap, just relentless determination and a belief that I was meant for more. I built my first business from nothing but faith, grit, and a laptop, often working late nights after my kids went to bed. Over time, I turned those long nights into a career and a calling; creating Underdog Solutions, a WordPress Website Design & SEO Agency dedicated to helping other dreamers build, scale, and win.
My story isn’t one of easy wins. It’s been failure after failure, heartbreak, lessons in leadership, and learning to rebuild, not once, but many times. Every setback sharpened me into a strategist, a fighter, and a woman who refuses to quit. I’ve helped build multiple brands, mentored countless entrepreneurs, and created a life that reflects what’s possible when purpose meets persistence, even when all of the odds are stacked against you.
Now, life has tested me again with a new cancer diagnosis smack dab in the middle of our expansion. But even in that, I am finding strength I didn’t know existed. I didn’t stop, I started documenting, healing, and turning my journey into a message of hope. Cancer didn’t pause my purpose; it magnified it. It reminded me that every second matters and that the impact we make while we’re here is our true legacy.
Today, I’m not just building businesses, I’m building belief. I’m living proof that even when the odds say “you can’t,” faith and fight will always say “you will.”
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all…my road has been anything but smooth. I’ve failed more times than I can count, been overlooked, underpaid, and underestimated. I’ve lost people I loved, businesses I built, and at times, even belief in myself. I’ve been through financial hardship, legal battles, betrayal from people I trusted, and the weight of leading others while silently breaking behind the scenes. There were moments when I questioned if I was even built for this, when growth came with more pain than progress. But every storm forced me to level up mentally, spiritually, and professionally. It taught me how to lead from scars, not from ego.
And just when I thought I had fought my biggest battles, I got my new diagnosis and my entire world turned upside down. It changed everything. Suddenly, the deadlines, deals, and titles didn’t mean as much as the simple act of waking up and still choosing to fight. Cancer has been my hardest chapter, but it’s also been the one that clarified my purpose the most.
So no, my journey hasn’t been smooth at all. It’s been raw, real, and relentless. But every bump, heartbreak, and diagnosis has built the resilience that defines me now. I learned that smooth roads don’t make strong women, battles do.
