Hi Madison, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my esthetics journey in California, where I first opened Raw Beauty with one goal in mind, to help women see and embrace their true, unfiltered raw beauty. When COVID hit in 2020, I had to close my salon, and it felt like losing a piece of myself. Shortly after, my husband joined the Army, and we relocated to North Carolina. For a while, I stepped away from the industry, but something about Raw Beauty never left me. When I decided to reopen, I found that same passion and purpose that inspired me in the beginning. I want to create a space where women can relax, reconnect, and feel confident in their own skin. Rebuilding Raw Beauty here in North Carolina has been the most rewarding chapter yet. It’s a reminder that even after starting over, you can still grow something beautiful.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped me into who I am today. Closing my first salon in California during COVID was heartbreaking, and leaving behind the clients I loved and cared for was one of the hardest parts. When we moved to North Carolina, I really struggled to find where I fit. Both personally and professionally. It took time to find a space and community that aligned with my goals and mindset. Starting over from scratch has been scary and honestly pretty lonely at times, but it also reminded me why I fell in love with this industry in the first place. Rebuilding my business here has taught me so much about resilience, faith, and staying true to my purpose. I love my clients and helping them see and celebrate their raw, natural beauty.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a licensed esthetician and the owner of Raw Beauty Esthetics. I specialize in lash extensions, facials, and full-body waxing. I’m best known for my natural-looking lash extensions and for helping clients feel comfortable. Especially those coming in for their first wax. I take an educational approach to every service because I think it’s important for clients to understand their skin, their lashes, and how to care for them between appointments.
What really sets me apart is the experience I create. I take my time with every client. I try to make sure nothing ever feels rushed. I want everyone who comes in to feel relaxed, cared for, and completely comfortable from start to finish. I love getting to build real relationships with my clients, too. Over time, they start to feel like friends. I remember their stories, celebrate their milestones, and genuinely care about them as people, not just appointments. I think that personal connection is my favorite part of my job.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Starting over hasn’t been easy, but it’s taught me that it’s never too late to go after what you love. Rebuilding my business here in North Carolina has been such a journey, and I’m so thankful for all the support I’ve had along the way. My clients mean the world to me!
