Today we’d like to introduce you to Ananta Nepal.
Hi Ananta, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My Story – Ananta Nepal
I’ve always believed that stories have the power to move people — to connect, inspire, and build communities. My journey began in Nepal, where I spent more about a decade as a radio and television journalist, anchoring news and producing documentaries that highlighted social change and human stories. That experience shaped my belief that good storytelling can spark transformation.
After immigrating to the United States about 15 years ago, I faced the same challenges many newcomers do — adapting to a new culture, starting from scratch, and finding my place. But I carried with me my passion for media and communication. Over time, that passion evolved into something bigger — a mission to amplify the voices of immigrant entrepreneurs who are quietly shaping America’s future.
That vision led to the creation of Nepal Media Group, an umbrella platform combining Nepal Talks, Biz-bee, and Karobar Business, where I produce video podcasts, interviews, and digital storytelling focused on immigrant-owned small businesses across the U.S. My podcast, Biz-bee, tells inspiring stories of Nepali and other immigrant entrepreneurs who are building successful ventures and contributing to the American economy in their own way.
Alongside my media work, I also run Postal Express, a local Cary-based logistics and shipping service that serves the everyday needs of our growing immigrant community. Running Postal Express has allowed me to stay rooted in the local economy while understanding the daily struggles and dreams of small business owners firsthand.
Today, my story is really about convergence — where media meets technology, where communication meets community, and where a dream that began in Nepal continues to evolve here in Cary. My goal is to keep telling stories that matter — stories of resilience, innovation, and hope — while building platforms that connect people and cultures.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It is challenging to do business and create media content at the same time, however, every challenges are opportunities for me. So I take every instances of obstacles as a way to find an alternate creative solutions. Challenges are the backbone of my growth.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Podcast Host, Vlog creator, Photography, Videography, Video editing, Social Media Management.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Back in the days of Monarchy in Nepal there used to be very few televisions across the town. One of them was a police station where they would show the big screen TV on the roof top and residents of the town would gather for 2-3 hours in the evening watching National TV broadcast along with News. We used to walk an hour by foot to go to the station with a Jute Sack for us to sit in the wet ground. I developed a dream of becoming a news anchor at the age of 5.
