Today we’d like to introduce you to Shay Allen.
Shay, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been an entrepreneur since before I can remember. I used to sell jewelry and candy in middle school. I ironed my dollar bills to make sure they were crisp. The life of a hustler. My driving determination for being an entrepreneur comes from my grandmother. She was a caterer in Connecticut. And I remember watching her cook and bake for people’s wedding birthday parties church events everything. Seeing that made me want to do something with my life.
Like her, I am a servant leader. Always making sure others are taking care of, but also paving my own way. My event planning business came from doing events for years. I enjoy the creativity that goes into each and every event. It’s A Vybe Events and Splatter Me team win I was probably at my lowest in life. Depression and anxiety had pretty much taken over and I needed an outlet. Splatter Me is a mobile art studio. I started so that adults could have a way to relieve their stress while creating something beautiful. They have the opportunity to splatter everything from T-shirts to hats to shoes. I book more children’s events now than I do adults, but it’s always open for them. It’s A Vybe Events is my passion. The look on the bride‘s face when she sees what we have created for her big day always gets me. Knowing I had a part in her big day just warms my soul. I absolutely love planning events.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
no it has not always been a smooth road. There were times where I did not have a steady income, but God always provided. My mental health has not always been the best, but I’ve always put on a happy face.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Shay Allen Enterprises (SAE) has a mission of helping people. With two businesses under this umbrella, we turn basic events into captivating memories. A most proud that despite some of the financial challenges and mental challenges, I’ve had I’m still able to build a brand that people recognize. I can be walking around town and a little kid will say I splattered a T-shirt at an event with you or you bartended at my friend‘s wedding. People remember me because of my personality. I don’t think I’ve ever met a stranger nor have I ever met someone I couldn’t get along with. I want people to know that when they do business with SAE that they are doing business with someone who strives for excellence, who ensures their integrity is never compromise and who loves what they do
We offer a Mobile art studio for adults and children. We do birthday parties, corporate events, teambuilding events, community events, etc. This gives participants the opportunity to splatter paint on T-shirts, hats, book bags, shoes, and canvases.
Our main event planning business is It’s A Vybe Events where we help our clients plan wedding’s birthday parties bar mitzvah’s bat mitzvah quinceanera’s you name it! There’s no challenge we’re not up to. We travel and we are budget friendly. We turn basic events into captivating memories.
Any big plans?
Our goal for the future is to obtain an event space. We would love to have the opportunity to set up in a brick and mortar so that people can constantly come in and see our work.
