Today we’d like to introduce you to Robbie Stitt.
Hi Robbie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started out working hands-on in residential construction, learning everything from framing and finish carpentry to the finer details of project management. Over time, I realized that what really motivated me was taking a project from concept to completion — seeing an idea on paper become a real, livable space.
That led me to start Eastern Cornerstone Construction LLC, where I’ve focused on building decks, porches, and full home remodels throughout Wake, Franklin, and the surrounding counties. In the beginning, it was just me managing small repair jobs, but as my reputation grew through word of mouth and referrals, the projects became larger and more complex — kitchens, attic conversions, and even light commercial upfits.
Today, I oversee multiple crews, coordinate with engineers, designers, and local inspectors, and continue to refine our systems so each client gets a transparent and well-organized experience. It’s been a gradual, hands-on journey — growing from craftsman to business owner — but at its core, it’s still about building with integrity and creating spaces people love to live in.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road the whole way. I think every business owner goes through that phase where you just want everything to be perfect — every line straight, every detail right — and you end up not charging enough for the amount of time and care that takes.
For me, that was the biggest struggle early on: wanting to do the right thing and deliver a perfect result, even if it meant sacrificing profit. Over time, I’ve learned that you can still hold high standards and take care of your clients while also valuing your own time and expertise.
It’s all part of the process — we never stop learning or improving in this business. Every project teaches you something new, whether it’s about craftsmanship, communication, or how to run things more efficiently. That mindset of constant growth is what keeps us getting better year after year.
As you know, we’re big fans of Eastern Cornerstone Construction llc. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We’re based in Franklin County and serve the surrounding areas. Eastern Cornerstone Construction focuses on decks, porches, and home remodels — kitchens, bathrooms, attic conversions, and light commercial work.
What really sets us apart is how we handle the process. We stay organized, communicate clearly, and make sure our clients always know what’s going on from start to finish.
I’m really proud of the reputation we’ve built. Our brand is all about integrity, craftsmanship, and relationships. We care about doing things the right way and creating spaces that people are proud to live in — that’s what Eastern Cornerstone is all about
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’ve been really fortunate to have a lot of support along the way. First and foremost, I rely on my faith in God and give Him all the glory for every step of this journey. There have been plenty of challenges, and having that foundation has kept me grounded and focused on doing what’s right.
My family has also been a huge source of encouragement — they’ve been patient through the long hours, the early mornings, and all the ups and downs that come with running a business.
I’ve also learned a lot from mentors, trade partners, and professionals I’ve worked alongside — engineers, designers, and inspectors who’ve shared their experience and helped me grow. And of course, our clients play a big part too. So much of our work comes from referrals, and that trust means the world to me.
At the end of the day, I think every bit of success comes from faith, hard work, and the relationships you build along the way
