Today we’d like to introduce you to Greta Albritton.
Hi Greta, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
In 2023 I completed my degree in Alternative Medicine from the Everglades University. While completing my degree I was asked what I wanted to do with it by my then 15 yrs old son. I told him at that time I wanted to teach this community about self-care. I wanted to show how to eat healthy, breath deeply, and what to rub on their skin to accomplish amazing results.
At the time I had no idea how I was going to be able to do it, since we had a child in college at UNCC and I am a veteran teacher. My daughter, Joi, worked in a local restaurant and the owner and I started becoming friends. We realize we had similar goals and became business partners.
Alma (owner of restaurant) and I signed our lease in Zebulon for our Wellness Spa in February of this year. We totally reconstructed a building to open “Better You Wellness Suites, LLC.” There are 3 suites which is where our healing begins. Massages, Facials and Lymphatic/Joint Suite, where we have leg and knee compressions, a Teeter as well as a vibrating plate. We also have a Dome Home for caporal tunnel and stiffness in the hands, arthritis, and neuropathy in the feet. Better You wants to focus on you and only you to get you to the point of feeling better mentally, emotionally and physically but looking your best as well.
We have the only Himalayan Salt Room in Eastern Wake County! There is over 2 tons of salt in our room which offers so many benefits by just sitting and relaxing for 45 mins in our gravity free chairs.
We welcome Kemba’s teas, our signature teas supplier of the tea of the month. October’s being Hibiscus Tea, and November’s tea will be Lemongrass Ginger!
I am currently a teacher for Wake County Schools and educators/administrators quite naturally receives a 10% discount on all services. We also offer Military discounts.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
They’re always challenges when it comes to starting a new venture, but it’s the positive thinking and faith that got us through it all. There was lots of red tape that we needed to research before jumping into the building aspect but thankfully we got over that obstacle.
Now, the challenge is getting the word out to let everyone know that we are here and ready for clients to come and experience the wellness within the walls of Better You!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an educator so I am accustomed and comfortable with explaining how things work, effect us, how to look for what we need and when to strategize for our well being.
I will be counseling individuals and referring out to various alternative medicine / integrative medicine specialist. We will offer acupuncture eventually next year.
I am very proud of the fact that the overall mood of the center is what clients feel when they walk into Better You!
I enjoy learning and seeing others discovering their light bulb moment.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Alma and I have a great family support system. My mentor is my acupuncturist Dr. Armstrong. He has given me so many valuable nuggets of wisdom to think about and implement. My husband has been very supportive in my endeavors. My two children has also been my biggest fans. My son helped with so many aspects of putting the center together. He helped with placing bricks on the wall and salt on the floor. He also was instrumental with hanging the pictures that we have in the center. My daughter, even though she is off to college would come home and help with the salt on the floor and opening and setting up the different suites. My biological sister supplied us with art work that is displayed in the center. My sister n law gave me a business opening gift for the massage room.
