We recently had the chance to connect with Troy Johnson and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Troy , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day set the tone for everything that follows.
Before I even touch my phone, I take a moment to stretch — to wake up my body and remind myself that movement is a blessing. Then it’s prayer — real, intentional time with God to center my spirit, express gratitude, and ask for clarity in whatever the day holds.
From there, I get active. I have to do something to get the blood flowing and the mind sharp. I believe physical energy fuels mental focus.
After that, I grab a healthy breakfast and sit down with my planner or notes. I call it “game-planning” — mapping out the priorities, people, and projects that need my best energy. I visualize how I want the day to feel — not just what I want to accomplish.
By the time those 90 minutes are up, I’m locked in — spiritually grounded, physically charged, and mentally clear. Ready to lead, serve, and create.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Troy Johnson, Executive Producer and Media Strategist with Bro Code TV Productions DBA Primeau Productions, where we specialize in high-end digital storytelling that informs, inspires, and ignites impact.
We create visual stories for real estate firms, public and private organizations, faith-based institutions, and political figures — helping our clients connect with their audiences through authenticity and excellence.
Currently, we’re producing a documentary series on Mental Health, highlighting the experiences of foreign refugees and individuals of Caribbean descent. It’s a powerful look at resilience, healing, and hope.
What sets Bro Code TV Productions DBA Primeau Productions apart is our focus on purpose-driven storytelling — not just making media, but creating moments that matter.
We don’t just film. We feel.
We don’t just produce. We connect.
That’s the Code.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
Without a doubt, my grandfather taught me the most about work. He lived to be 101 and was the definition of a Renaissance Man — a true “Man’s Man.” Every day, he put on a suit like he was headed to a boardroom, then spent hours in the garden or under the hood of a car. He was a community ambassador, a man of deep faith, and the hardest-working person I’ve ever known.
His motto was simple but powerful: “I rest when I’m done, not when I’m tired. There’s always something to do.” – John Chance That mindset shaped everything about how I approach my craft, my business, and my life. He showed me that excellence isn’t a goal — it’s a lifestyle.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Troy, be kind to yourself. You are bigger than your circumstances and stronger than your adversities. It’s okay to ask for help, and it’s okay not to have all the answers. Your natural ability to shift the energy in a room — that’s your superpower. Lean into it. That’s the power of influence, and it’s invaluable.
Keep being a forever learner. Fall in love with the phrase, “Tell me more.” Remember — courage is just fear in motion. So keep it moving, stay grounded in purpose, and never forget: you’ve got everything you need already within you.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
The cultural value I protect at all costs is my identity — the melanin in my skin. It’s unique, rare, invaluable, creative, kind, loving, passionate, secure, grandiose, competitive, thought-provoking, and eclectic. My cultural background is a living testament to resilience, perseverance, and strength.
I am the answer to the prayers of my ancestors — the embodiment of their hope and sacrifice. I carry Dunamis Power within me: divine strength, unwavering will, and boundless vision. Protecting that essence isn’t optional — it’s sacred.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m in full creative flow — curating new animation and video projects. There’s something euphoric about taking an idea that only existed in my imagination and bringing it to life through vision, precision, and process.
From brainstorming concepts, building storyboards, framing shots, and layering sound and motion — it’s an art form that connects spirit and structure. Watching creativity transform into something tangible, something that moves people — that’s my peace. That’s my joy. That’s where fulfillment lives for me.
