Today we’d like to introduce you to Verdale Dial-Harrison.
Hi Verdale, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always been an educator at heart with an entrepreneurial spirit and a deep passion for helping others. My journey began as a home childcare owner, where I spent 13 years nurturing children ranging from three months to twelve years old. During that time, I recognized a growing need to support children facing academic challenges. This realization inspired me to transition into the field of Special Education—a role that allowed me to not only help students overcome those challenges but also provide guidance and resources to families within my community. My work as an Exceptional Children’s teacher gave me the chance to make a meaningful impact; however, it offered limited flexibility to be fully present with my own family.
One day, a fellow teacher suggested I look into becoming a Notary Signing Agent, and that single conversation sparked my curiosity. After researching the profession, I discovered it offered not only the flexibility I was seeking but also a new way to educate, connect, and serve others within my community. Eight years later, that leap of faith has evolved into a thriving business. Through VDH Notary, LLC, I’ve built lasting relationships with title companies, commercial businesses, real estate law offices, and clients throughout surrounding communities. This work allows me to live a life of fulfillment—spending quality time with my family, giving back through community volunteering, and guiding clients with patience, precision, and discernment as they navigate important document processes.
Beyond my direct notarial work, I’m passionate about mentoring and empowering others who aspire to become Notary Signing Agents. Sharing my knowledge, resources and experience has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my journey, as it allows me to help others create the same balance, freedom, and purpose that this profession has brought into my life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—but every challenge has shaped me into the professional I am today. In the beginning, one of my biggest struggles was learning how to effectively market myself and gain the trust of clients. Without prior experience in the notarial field, it can be difficult for title companies and signing services to give you that first opportunity. I had to be persistent, professional, and consistent in how I presented myself to earn that trust. Another challenge was the financial investment that comes with starting out. Purchasing quality equipment and necessary supplies was a commitment. On top of that, the responsibility of maintaining accuracy is high because in this field, one error could delay a transaction or cost a client time and money. The pressure to perform flawlessly while representing your business with integrity is real.
As a business owner, I also wear many hats. I manage bookkeeping, ensure all payments are received, log mileage and expenses for tax purposes, monitor supplies, and plan routes carefully to avoid accepting assignments that are too far outside my service area. It’s a constant balancing act that requires organization, time management, and strong problem-solving skills.
You also have to be adaptable—being pet-friendly is one example since many clients have animals in their homes. Beyond that, this job is deeply people-centered. Therefore, you must know how to communicate calmly, handle unexpected issues on the spot, and problem-solve independently without relying on title companies or attorneys for every small question. Overcoming these challenges has built resilience and reaffirmed my purpose.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I provide mobile general notarial and real estate loan signing services designed to make the process seamless, convenient, and stress-free for clients. I specialize in loan closings such as refinances, buyer and seller packages, home equity lines of credit, estate and power-of-attorney documents. My work focuses on guiding clients through their documents with patience, clarity, and professionalism,
What I’m most proud of is that my clients have consistently recognized and appreciated that approach. I’ve earned all five-star reviews on Google, which I consider one of my greatest accomplishments. Those reviews often mention how patient I am, how comfortable clients feel during appointments, and how pleased they are with the overall experience. That genuine feedback means the world to me because it reflects my commitment to serving people with excellence and compassion.
Another factor that sets me apart is my flexibility and availability. I understand that life doesn’t always fit into a 9-to-5 schedule, so I offer extended hours—from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., including evenings and weekends. Additionally, I approach every appointment with patience, professionalism, and respect for the client’s time and circumstances. Whether I’m meeting someone at their home, a hospital, or a local business, my goal is always to provide a calm, reassuring experience while ensuring their documents are completed accurately and efficiently.
