Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Mugdha R

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Mugdha R. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Mugdha, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I have never focused on physical activity / workout and nutrition, till last year. Since then I have formed a habit of taking care of my body and I am proud of it.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am an Ovarian Cancer survivor who tries to raise awareness about it on my Instagram handle which is called Recipe Of My Life where I also share recipes. Some of the recipes are the ones I have inherited from my mother, some of the recipes are what I have created in these past few years. Lately I am trying to create and share recipes for eating healthier.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
That would have to be my parents. They raised me to be a strong, independent person and I am grateful that they let me be myself. They told me to not think about what someone else might think as long as it made me happy and I knew I wasn’t doing anything wrong.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell myself that I am much stronger than I thought I was when I was young. I never knew the inner strength till I got a cancer diagnosis and stood strong through the diagnosis and the treatment.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, absolutely. People who have met me, and know me can vouch for the fact that I am as I come across. I do not believe in hiding my true self.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people tell others how I helped them get through tough times, how I have been considerate and how I lived my life without being afraid of what people would say.
