Hi Brandon, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Its a long story, but my wife’s sister got killed in a hit and run in Durham and her parents gave us money from her insurance death payout, I used that to start my business out the back of an old tool truck. Now 20 years later we are in a 8k SF building on 17 acres at Hyco Lake in Semora NC
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
NOT AT ALL, Nothing in business is easy, We have been through the 2017 down turn, Covid, My wife has had Cancer (two types now), and now the economy is not the best after a massive flood we had this year that has shut down the lake for most of this season when it was already super slow.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’d say I’m most proud of my team that has done the work to help us be successful, the customers that have provided that work, all for the fact that it has allowed us to do so many GIVING BACK events to the local community. Events such as Cancer awareness events where we take survivors out on the water for a free day on the water, Granting Make A wish kids with their wishes, and for Operation Wakesurf where we take out Vets & First responders for a multi day event where they get tons of gifts and a day on the water. These are honestly some of my favorite things to do.
