Today we’d like to introduce you to Phillip Duddy.
Hi Phillip, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Grace Provisions is a group of church members who work together to meet the financial needs of our local church, Grace Baptist Tabernacle. We are an independent church, which means that we are unaffiliated with any outside convention or board of directors. As such, we are responsible for raising our own funding. One evening during the summer of 2024, Jesus gave me the original vision for Grace Provisions, a business that would be totally operated by church members working together in love and using our individual interests, gifts, and talents within the business. I shared this vision with the church, and it’s been a huge blessing to draw alongside one another as we sell together, find products to feature, and work to build and expand the business! We use 100% of our profits to support the church and its needs as we minister to our neighbors in the community and to people around the world. We currently reach our nearby neighbors in King and the surrounding areas, along with people in over 80 nations outside of the United States.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We are a young company, and everyone who makes our company work has their own gifts and talents. That’s what really helps the company to thrive, overcome challenges, and be successful. Whether it’s the ability to build a website, years of face-to-face sales experience, graphic design, an artistic eye, math knowledge, or accounting skills, everyone who works with us adds something special and irreplaceable to Grace Provisions. As a company, it’s not just about our skills and the products, but it’s about the people! As a church, we’ve been brought together by Jesus, and we love one another as brothers and sisters in Him. Sometimes the hours get long, sometimes we have trouble finding places to sell, sometimes we need to cover for each other because one of us needs a break, but everything is done in love, charity, and unity in the Holy Spirit.
As you know, we’re big fans of Grace Provisions. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We specialize in bringing the unique flavors of North Carolina together. We curate and offer only locally crafted items. Because of our local focus, we partner with local culinary experts, farms, and mills. Each item that we offer has its own rich history. Some come from multi-generational family recipes, some come from historical mills that are still in operation, and they all come together to offer a unique perspective into the history and culture of North Carolina. It’s a joy to be able to support small businesses by purchasing from them and, in turn, helping them to reach a larger audience through Grace Provisions! We offer our products individually or in gift boxes. We have a few pre-selected boxes, but we also offer customers the flexibility to build their own personalized boxes based upon their tastes and any special occasion that they might be celebrating. We love to hear feedback from our customers! Conversations with our customers have helped us discover new products, new places to sell, and new ways to engage individual customers and corporate clients.
Any big plans?
Currently, we sell at local restaurants, businesses, and festivals near to King, NC. We’ve had a large amount of support from local business owners and the people who see us at our tables! We recently launched our website, and we definitely would love to see more online engagement! Additionally, we would love to partner with more businesses and companies to offer them gift boxes for their employees and clients! For our company/corporate gifting clients, we offer our existing products and, in addition, we search out and curate new products based upon what our client would like to have in their gift boxes. We don’t want our clients to feel limited to our existing catalogue, but we always want to remain open to hearing what they want and doing our best to meet their specific needs!
