Today we’d like to introduce you to Becky Skinner.
Hi Becky, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I got started on my personal health journey by necessity for my daughter and eventually my whole family. Little by little I was exposed to more and more people and information that allowed me to help my family and grow my love for health and natural remedies. I started to take classes and earn diplomas in muscle testing, nutrition , and herbalism. When I moved to High Point and went back to work after raising children and home schooling for 20 years, I applied to the Only Earth and got the job in April 2015. During this time I was facing some health challenges, and again was blessed with people and information to help myself as well as gaining knowledge to help others, and my health greatly improved. In Nov of 2020, my husband and I bought The Only Earth making us the 3rd owners. God has blessed me in many ways, mostly from being able to use what I have learned and been through to help others in their own health journeys.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Owning a business is definitely a learning experience and trial and error. We bought the business during the pandemic so of course there has been many changes in health related issues as well as the retail world and economy. Navigating those changes and finding things that work and allow us to serve more people have been challenging and rewarding.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
What sets us apart is customer service. I am continuously taking classes and always learning, as there is so much information out there. I offer two pro lines of supplements and consultations to help rookie get answers and results. I love to help people with diet and weight loss questions, as I eat a somewhat strict diet myself and have lost 16 sizes in the last 15 years. Having been through it myself I can offer tips and suggestions as well as be a cheerleader ands proof it can be done.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I am definitely lucky, or I prefer to say blessed, in being able to own this wonderful business. God definitely orchestrated the details in ways I could not. I guess you could say bad luck in some of the things I have been through personally, but those things have allowed me to grow and gain experience and knowledge which allows me to help others more effectively.
