Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Williams.
Hi Lisa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my work in mental health with a deep belief that healing happens when people feel truly supported and understood. I wanted to give people the space to find how to overcome their life’s struggles, and become the person they were meant to be. Over the years, I witnessed how often individuals carry their pain quietly, without a space to pause, breathe, and be held with compassion. That realization is what drew me into this field—the hope of offering a place where healing could feel possible, accessible, and grounded in genuine care.
What began as one-on-one work eventually expanded into building a counseling practice centered on compassion, accessibility, and a sense of belonging. I wanted to create a place where clients felt seen, supported, and understood, and where therapists could collaborate, grow, and show up fully for the people they serve.
Today, our practice spans multiple locations and a team of clinicians who share the same values: slowing down, asking thoughtful questions, and meeting people with warmth and practical solutions. It’s been a journey shaped by purpose, community, and the belief that healing happens through connection—and I’m grateful for every step that led us here.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but still worth it. Building and growing a counseling practice has come with seasons of uncertainty, staffing challenges, and the constant balancing act of serving clients well while managing the operational demands behind the scenes. Insurance plan changes and expectations definitely keep us on our toes! There were times when the workload felt overwhelming, when systems needed to be rebuilt, or when growth happened faster than support structures could keep up. But each challenge pushed me to become more resilient, more intentional, and more committed to creating a space where both clients and clinicians can genuinely thrive.
As you know, we’re big fans of Miracles Counseling Centers. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Miracles Counseling offers a range of supportive, trauma-informed services designed to meet clients wherever they are. Our team provides individual therapy for adults, children, and teens, as well as couples and family counseling to strengthen relationships and improve communication. We also support clients through stress, anxiety, grief, and major life transitions, offering a grounded and compassionate space to heal. With both in-person and virtual options, our goal is to make high-quality, culturally affirming care accessible and centered on each person’s unique needs.
We are also very invested in offering psychoeducational experiences for businesses and agencies to further our goal of strengthening emotional well-being and connection within the communities we serve. These experiences can look like group talks and lecutres, Q&A on mental health topics for groups, and critical incident response needs.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with us in several meaningful ways. Clients can connect with our therapists directly for individual, couples, or family counseling, either in person or through our secure virtual platform. Businesses and community agencies can collaborate with us by bringing in our team for psychoeducational workshops, mental health trainings, or support around crisis response and workplace well‑being. We also welcome partnerships with organizations that share our commitment to accessible, trauma‑informed care—whether through referral relationships, community events, or joint initiatives that strengthen mental health resources in our area. And for those looking to support our mission more broadly, sharing our services, attending our events, and helping spread awareness about mental wellness in the community all make a meaningful impact.
