Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassie Causey.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Sassy Clover was actually born during difficult and uncertain times, built on the passion of helping others heal and be heard. During the height of COVID, I found myself slipping into one of the deepest depressions I had ever faced. Depression is something I’ve battled with most of my life, but the stillness of the world in that moment made it heavier than ever. I felt trapped inside a dark hole that I couldn’t climb out of.
And then I discovered crystals or should I say crystals discovered me!
It started one night when I was dome-scrolling TikTok and I kept stopping on videos of crystal scoops. At first I thought it was silly that people would purchase these rocks without even knowing which ones they were getting. After many nights of watching these live streams, I finally decided to order one myself. That is when I became ‘hooked’ and ‘obsessed’ with crystals. I felt something shift. I didn’t just fall in love with their beauty—I fell in love with their *energy*. The calm they brought, the grounding, the spark of hope.
I began sharing my new fascination with friends, who quickly asked, *“Are you selling these?”* At the time, the answer was no—but the entrepreneur in me whispered, *Why not?* I started showing crystals live on TikTok, and the response was immediate and overwhelming. When TikTok Shop launched in the U.S. in 2023, we exploded.
At the time, I was working full-time in a corporate office that I had been with for 21 years and running Sassy Clover after hours and weekends. Orders increased, demand grew, and keeping up became impossible without sacrifice. So, I made the scariest decision of my life and left my corporate job to focus fully on Sassy Clover.
I wanted to build something magical and special for others like me. I wanted a safe space that welcomes everyone regardless of who they are or what they believe. We found a small building in Wilson, NC, signed the lease, and spent months transforming it into something enchanting…a place filled with energy, color, and magic.
Crystals are not just pretty rocks—they are reminders. Of peace. Of protection. Of possibility. They inspire creativity, ease anxiety, and help guide people through dark times.
Sassy Clover has become more than a shop—it’s a community. A haven for those who feel misunderstood, unseen, or afraid to be themselves. Here, everyone is welcome. And here, magic is real.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has certainly not been smooth. Challenges began almost immediately. Finding a location proved more difficult than we anticipated; we were turned away multiple times simply because of the type of shop we are. When we finally found a space that welcomed us, the cost to transform it was far greater than expected. What started as a manageable renovation quickly doubled due to permits, inspections, and countless city requirements. There were moments I feared we wouldn’t make it — moments I wondered if the bills would outweigh our hope, and if Sassy Clover would even be able to open the doors. But we persevered, holding onto hope, and in February, we finally opened our doors. Nearly two years later, many people are still discovering that we even exist.. We even spent over a year fighting for something as simple as a road sign — one that we were only just granted this week.
Not everyone has been accepting. We’ve received judgmental messages and phone calls from people who misunderstand metaphysical shops. But alongside the pushback, we’ve also been met with immense love and support from those who appreciate that we are here, creating a space for magic, healing, and community.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the founder and owner of Sassy Clover, a small metaphysical shop specializing in crystals, herbal teas, and spiritual kits. I help people connect with their own intuition, energy, and spirituality through tools that promote healing, protection, abundance, and personal growth.
I am known for creating a welcoming, inclusive space for anyone curious about metaphysical practices, regardless of their background or beliefs. My shop is not just about crystals—it’s about community, education, and empowering people to explore their own spirituality safely and confidently.
What I’m most proud of is building Sassy Clover from the ground up, transforming it from a personal passion into a thriving business and safe space for many people. My team and I have cultivated a space where people feel seen, supported, and inspired, and we’ve grown a community of loyal customers who value the care, intention, and authenticity behind everything we offer.
I feel that my genuine passion for helping others is what sets me apart from others the most. It’s the driving force behind everything I do. I am relatable, reliable, and deeply committed to supporting people on their spiritual journeys. My determination and strong drive allow me to overcome obstacles and bring my vision to life, while my focus on community ensures that Sassy Clover is more than a shop—it’s a safe, welcoming space where people feel seen, supported, and empowered. The joy and transformation I witness in the lives of others is what continually motivates me to push forward and grow Sassy Clover.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
This is such a great and difficult question to answer as I feel I am continuing to learn every day. If I had to pinpoint the most important lesson in my journey thus far it would have to be that resilience and a strong community is everything. I am such an independent person and have always struggled with asking for help or allowing others to support me; I can be very hard headed iin that way. Building Sassy Clover has taught me that challenges are inevitable – there will always be obstacles, but they are also opportunities to grow, adapt, and strengthen your purpose. I’ve learned to trust myself, lean into my determination, and embrace the support of others—because success is not just about what you achieve, but about the lives you touch along the way.
