Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Walker.
Hi Tiffany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My Journey Into Paper 2 Film
My name is Tiffany Walker, and my love for storytelling started long before I ever realized it would shape my entire life. I was first introduced to Broadcast Production in the 11th grade at Weaver Education Center. The moment I stepped into that classroom—surrounded by cameras, lights, and the hum of creative energy—I felt something awaken in me. I was already active in drama classes, but this was different. This was purpose.
That spark followed me to North Carolina A&T State University, where I studied Production and Journalism in Mass Communication while continuing to train in drama. I learned how stories move people, how media shapes culture, and how the lens of a camera can reveal truths that words alone can’t.
After school, I stepped into the education field. I wanted to give young people the same opportunity that changed me—access to a craft that could shift the direction of their lives. Not long after, I was asked to create a film program for students. I knew immediately this was bigger than a class. This was a calling.
Around that time, I connected with Larry Wright, an independent filmmaker in the community. Together, we merged our talents and vision, and in 2013 we launched the Paper 2 Film Program. Our goal was simple but powerful: teach students how to take their ideas from paper to the screen while giving them confidence in their own voice. Watching them grow affirmed everything I believed about storytelling and education.
By 2018, members of my community began asking me to take on production projects—editing, technical directing, content creation, and more. I realized it was time to expand. So I stepped fully into entrepreneurship and founded Paper 2 Film LLC. That decision opened doors all across the country. I’ve had the opportunity to travel, work on amazing productions, and grow even deeper in my craft.
But no matter where I go, I stay rooted in service. I continue teaching young people how to tell their stories from behind the lens of a camera, just like someone once did for me. My journey has been a blend of education, creativity, and purpose—and Paper 2 Film is the bridge that connects all of it.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My struggles along the way involved recognizing the value of the skills I was developing and understanding how they could create additional streams of income for myself and my family. It took a close friend to help me realize my full potential.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m the co-founder of the Paper 2 Film Program and the owner of Paper 2 Film LLC. I work at the intersection of storytelling and purpose—editing, directing, and teaching others how to turn their ideas into living, breathing films.
What I’m most proud of is watching young people find their voice behind the camera, the same way I once found mine. And stepping into entrepreneurship—finally seeing the value in the skills I carried for years—was its own awakening.
What sets me apart is the way I blend heart, creativity, and community. I don’t just create content. I help people discover the story inside them and give them the tools to bring it to life.
How do you think about luck?
Luck has shown up in my life in unexpected ways. In 2019, when COVID put the Paper 2 Film Program on pause, it felt like a setback—but it turned out to be the doorway I didn’t know I needed. I shifted my focus to Paper 2 Film LLC, and that move launched me into a world I never imagined being part of.
During the pandemic, my opportunities grew. I found myself leading teams on set, producing projects, creating behind-the-scenes work, and editing for nonprofits. What looked like bad luck at first became the season that elevated my gifts and expanded my reach.
Sometimes luck is disguised as disruption. That pause pushed me into my purpose.
