We’re looking forward to introducing you to Poca Nova. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Poca, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
Currently, what I am being called to do is what’s best for me, regardless of how my family/friends feel. When you’re becoming someone you’ve never been before, it will make many people uncomfortable. Why, you may ask? Because you stepped out of the norm and made it look easy. You took that job in another state, far away from everyone you knew. You bought that house overseas. Whatever the case may be. You are doing it!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello. My name is Poca Nova. I’m a music artist and streamer. I have a YouTube channel with 15k followers where I stream live daily and post content. Please subscribe. I grew up in a small town called Bessemer, Alabama. I was raised by a single father who taught me how to cook, clean and work hard. I started doing music in 2021. Marketing was costly, so I started going live to promote my upcoming music. Four years later, my personality has outshone and I love going live daily just talking about life.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
When I was 17, I had a bank account at Wachovia. You may know it as Wells Fargo today. I went to withdraw money from my account, not realizing I had no ID. The branch manager walked over as I was walking out and said, ‘Ms. Underwood, you don’t need an ID.’ I know exactly who you are. I proceeded to withdraw the money. I walked out feeling like the man of the year.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
When you suffer, you have two choices. Give up or continue on the journey. Suffering will bring out the beast you did not know lived inside of you. Resilience is key. You came too far to give up now. I can’t quit on myself.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, I’m authentic. This is the only way I know how to be. Follow me and find out for yourself.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I became the first millionaire in my bloodline. I paved the way for generations to come.
