Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Corrao.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi there! I’m Hannah Corrao. My husband and I live in High Point, NC with our sweet fur baby. For the past two years, I’ve had the joy of working as a full-time photographer—something I’ve been passionate about since childhood. I grew up running around with a camera in hand, capturing everything from my younger siblings to insects and sunsets.
Previously, photography was a creative outlet while I worked full time in refugee resettlement. But in 2023, the demands of my nonprofit role began affecting my health, and I knew it was time for a change. In 2024, I launched my own business, Art Garden Photography Co., and began contracting as a newborn photographer with Bella Baby Photography and as an event and wedding photographer with Orion Photo Group.
Today, whether I’m helping a business elevate their brand or preserving meaningful moments for families, I feel truly blessed to do work that brings me joy and serves others well.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This journey has rarely been smooth. Like many creative fields, photography comes with seasons of momentum and seasons of stillness, and growing a business from the ground up takes time and persistence. But I’m endlessly grateful for the clients who have found me, believed in me, and continued to come back. Their support means everything.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Art Garden Photography Co., I specialize in capturing warm, emotive, story-driven imagery for families, couples, creatives, and brands. My work spans portraits, branding sessions, events, and weddings, and I’m known for creating a comfortable, guided, and genuinely fun experience for my clients. No stiff posing—just natural emotion sparked through prompts and connection.
My style blends documentary storytelling with gently directed moments, which allows me to capture both the big milestones and the small in-between moments that people often don’t realize they’ll treasure the most. Whether I’m photographing a family on a windy hill, an entrepreneur building their brand, or a wedding day full of joyful chaos, my goal is always the same: to create images that feel like you.
I offer a wide range of sessions—from quick 30-minute portrait shoots to extended multi-location sessions, group shoots, branding packages, event coverage, and full wedding day coverage with engagement and bridal add-ons. For weddings specifically, I take a journalistic, “butterfly-on-the-wall” approach, capturing the day as it unfolds while slipping in intentional portrait moments when the couple needs a quiet breath.
What I’m Most Proud Of
I’m incredibly proud of the trust my clients place in me—many of them return year after year. Growing a photography business comes with busy seasons and slower seasons, but the support of repeat clients, referrals, and kind words is what keeps my business thriving and my heart full.
I’m also proud of building a career that aligns with who I am. After working in refugee resettlement, shifting into photography full-time was a leap of faith. Growing my business, developing packages that truly serve people, and expanding into newborn, event, and wedding photography have been some of my biggest milestones.
What Sets Me Apart
What sets me apart is the experience I create. My clients consistently describe my sessions as relaxed, upbeat, and easy—even for people who typically hate being in front of a camera. I guide with prompts that spark real emotion, personalize every session to someone’s vision, and deliver galleries with fast turnaround times so clients can relive their moments while they’re still fresh.
But more than anything, I care deeply about the people I photograph. My background in nonprofit work taught me how to hold space, read emotion, connect quickly, and honor each story with empathy. That translates into images that feel honest, warm, and full of life.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
