Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Boothe.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m Jessica Boothe, and I help people grow things they care about.
I didn’t plan on starting a marketing agency, I just kept meeting really great business owners who were amazing at what they did, but struggled with being seen. They didn’t need jargon or a complicated strategy. They needed someone who actually cared about their success and would sit down with them, listen, and make a plan that felt right.
So I built Leading Lynx Digital Marketing. Not because I wanted a fancy title, but because helping passionate people share their work with the world turned out to be what I’m passionate about.
That same heart for community is why I also support A Human Mission, a nonprofit that provides clothing and confidence to families who need extra support, and why I tell local stories through The Raleigh Rundown. I love shining a light on the good happening right here in our backyard.
My story isn’t about overnight success. It’s about following what feels meaningful, creativity, connection, and building something real while also being a mom, a wife, and a human who’s just trying her best. I get to work with people I admire every day, and that still feels like the coolest part of all of this.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think any entrepreneur would call the road smooth. For me, the biggest challenge has been learning how to build a business while also building a life, especially with a toddler at my side and a laptop somewhere within reach at all times.
There were moments early on where it felt like I had to choose between being a present mom or a successful business owner. I was constantly trying to prove I could do both perfectly. Spoiler: you can’t. What I did learn was how to give myself grace, take one step forward at a time, and trust that growth doesn’t have to be loud or fast to be real.
I also had to overcome the typical small-business struggles, saying yes to too much, underpricing my work, wearing every hat, and figuring out how to be CEO, creative director, bookkeeper, and IT all at once. There were late nights and a lot of imposter syndrome tucked in there, too.
But every challenge brought clarity. I learned how to set boundaries, how to value my expertise, and how to create a business that supports my family instead of competing with it. The road hasn’t been smooth, but it’s been worth every twist.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I help businesses show up online in a way that actually feels like them. A lot of the time, that starts with social media, finding the right voice, the right tone, and the right rhythm so their audience doesn’t just scroll past, but stops and connects. I love creating content that tells a story, not just fills a feed.
I also design and write websites that feel like a deep breath, clean, clear, and easy to understand. My goal is always to make sure someone lands on a site and instantly gets who that business is and why they matter. From there, SEO and strategy come into play naturally, helping the right people discover that story.
I think what sets me apart is my ability to listen between the lines. Most of the clients I work with know what they do, but not always how to talk about it. I help them put words to what makes them special, and then build a digital presence around that truth.
Whether I’m helping a small business find its voice on social media, bringing a brand to life through web design, or making sure the right people are finding them on Google, I hope the common thread is always this: connection. Real, human connection.
I’m proud that I get to work with passionate business owners and nonprofits who genuinely care about the people they serve. Helping them show up online in a way that feels exciting and authentic, that’s my favorite part of the job.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
For me, the most important quality has been determination, the belief that I could build a business that fits the life I want, instead of squeezing my life into the leftovers of work.
I’m proud that I get to be present for the little moments with my family while still growing something I care deeply about. That balance isn’t always perfect, but the freedom to create a life where both can co-exist, that’s what success looks like to me. And staying determined, even on the days when it feels messy or unsure, is what keeps it all moving forward.
