Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Wedding.
Hi Christina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began my journey in the construction world many years ago, starting out in the field as a tool girl and later becoming a welding apprentice. When my children were young, I explored various roles in the construction industry, each one rewarding. Still, I felt there was more I could do—to truly make a difference in our communities. That’s when my inspiring mentor, Stephane Joyner from DiverseCity Services, encouraged me to step out on faith and pursue my entrepreneurial dreams. This encouragement led me to start Innovate Insight, LLC. My vision with the company is to support small businesses and strengthen our minority communities by providing essential administrative assistance to help their teams thrive and grow.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been easy, it takes courage to take the initial leap to begin starting a business. Financial investments for startup and scaling was a challenge. This is where having relationships in the industry will help you retain your first contract. I work with All For 1 Inclusion in Raleigh. Renee Jones is another mentor and advisor of mine. Fortunately I went to school first and learned as much as I could and then with the help and guidance of my mentors Stephane and Renee, I have been able to push through those challenges.
