Daily Inspiration: Meet Robert Archer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Archer.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started making balloons when I got a book for Christmas one year. And once I learned I could make a living from it. I ran with it. I kept continuing to educate myself whenever I could. and learned how to market myself better.

I moved to the Charlotte NC area 10 years ago and its been the best place for me.

I can make anything in the Zoo, Ocean, Farm, or the Jungle. “If you can Visualize it, I can Balloonatize it.”
People and characters included.

I do everything from back yard birthdays to Corp picnics.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Well , I started in NJ, Struggled different parts of the year cost of living was expensive. I talked to my mom she said everything was cheaper in the Fayettville, NC area, She wasn’t lying. I went from making $125 an hour to $80 an hour. I moved back to NJ. still couldn’t get on my feet, had an opportunity to move to Charlotte NC. Made the jump and its been the best move I ever made. Now I can support myself and I’m making $250 hr.

Marketing still seems to be a challenge but starting new stuff that seems to be paying off.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Balloon Artist who can make anything out of balloons.

I am most proud of my 11ft Lego guy that took over 20 hours of labor to make.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
