Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryan Piccirillo.
Hi Bryan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Growing up in a small, blue-collar community, I understood that my parents worked hard for everything we had. I also saw the impact my mother had as a nurse and caregiver. I knew I wanted to follow in their footsteps, working hard to change people’s lives for the better. I started as a pharmacist, but quickly realized I was doing what was best for my employers, not my patients. It took nearly a year of soul searching, but I realized that I needed a career that would allow me to pursue my own vision of how to truly help and make a difference in my community. I married my understanding of health, passion for service and knowledge of finance to become an Edward Jones financial advisor in 2017. In this role, I’m not working with people to improve their finances – I’m working with them to improve their lives.
To add to this story, I was given bad information that wasn’t in my best interest at a young age by an advisor. This also led to my passion in understanding investing and money and educating others so they don’t make the same mistakes I did.
I’m not exaggerating when I say my clients become like family to me. I take great pride in being supportive to my clients, whether we’re conquering their fears, celebrating their successes or grieving their losses. It’s my job to keep things in perspective and help them avoid common mistakes like emotional investing. I believe the best way to do this is by breaking down our strategy into understandable terms, allocating different funds for different goals and constantly monitoring our progress.
My Durham office serves investors from across North Carolina as well as the entire country. I hold the CFP® certification, CEPA® and AAMS™ designations, am Sigma 6 and Lean certified and have an MBA and a doctorate in pharmacy.
Outside of the office, I love staying active doing home improvements, playing pickleball, golfing, cooking and spending time with my Wheaten Terrier, Simba. I’m also incredibly passionate about giving back to my community through service with Durham Rotary, The Carying Place; The Animal Sanctuary, Summit Church and Second Chance Pet Adoption.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I had to take a leap of faith, it was hard to go from being at the top to learning all over again. There were many days i felt I wasn’t going to make it and had to battle my mind and tough it out to get through weeks where it seemed no one wanted to give me the time of day.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?

What’s next?
There is a generational wealth transfer beginning to occur and a whole generation that needs educated on how to properly and efficiently organize, manage, grow, and protect their assets.
Financial literacy is missing in preparing people for the future and I have a large portion of my time being allocated to educating people on what to do and not to do to be sure they are prepared for the future.
My office will be expanding both in size and staff to accommodate more clients that are asking for our help
