We recently had the chance to connect with Cai Cee Murgo and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Cai Cee, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately is that I will have a new baby boy coming into the world in December. I am so excited but also very nervous. Becoming a mom again after nine years is a big deal.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Cai Cee Murgo, and I’m one of the special parts of Picnic Haven here in Surf City, NC. I started this little dream with my business partner Larhea Burke because I’ve always loved finding special ways to make ordinary moments feel magical. For me, it’s about creating a cozy, beautiful space where people can slow down, laugh, celebrate, and just enjoy being together.
What makes Picnic Haven unique is the heart that goes into every setup—I love playing with themes, adding thoughtful details, and letting the natural beauty of the beach do the rest. It’s not just about a picnic; it’s about giving people an experience they’ll remember forever.
Right now, I’m having so much fun working on new seasonal setups and little touches to make each picnic feel extra personal. This isn’t just a business for me—it’s something I truly love, and I feel so grateful I get to share it with our community. Im ready to see where this next season takes us.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that I’m ready to release is the version that always second-guessed herself, the one who felt she had to prove her worth by doing more, being more, or pleasing everyone around her. She served her purpose—she kept me safe, she helped me navigate uncertain seasons, and she pushed me to grow. But now, she feels heavy.
I no longer need to carry the weight of doubt or the constant need for perfection. I’m choosing to trust myself, to believe that who I am is already enough, and that my dreams are worth pursuing without hesitation.
I release the part of me that clings to old fears and step forward into a lighter, freer, and truer version of myself—one rooted in confidence, peace, and joy.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are a sunrise in the making. Always soft, steady, and radiant. Even in your darkest nights, you’ve carried the light that will one day shine so brightly
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would probably say what matters most to me is creating meaningful connections and making people feel cared for. They’d tell you I value experiences over things, love over appearances, and that I put my heart into everything I do—whether it’s a friendship, my work, or the small details that make life feel special. They’d also say I care deeply about showing up for others, making memories, and building something beautiful and lasting.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I loved deeply, created beauty wherever I could, and made others feel seen and valued. That I built a life filled with kindness, laughter, and meaningful moments—and left the world a little softer than I found it.
