Aubrey, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Birth and babies has been a main interest of mine since being a little girl. I would watch birth stories on tv and grew up babysitting siblings, cousins, and friends’ children.
My dreams of being a mom came true when I had my first baby in 2020 and through my birth experience came my new found love for supporting laboring women and being a source of knowledge during such a vulnerable time. I decided to take the step forward to become a certified doula and started my own business. Birth work is such a passion of mine and being welcomed into each woman’s birth space is the highest honor!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve trusted and prayed for God to bring me clients and I’ve done the work to help make my business known. It has definitely had its challenges since I am a stay at home mom as well. Childcare is hard to find, my kids keep me busy, advertising can be tricky, but I’ve continued to keep doing the work and every woman who hires me and shares her story of that experience, helps me gain more clientele. Starting a business from scratch can be scary because you have to make yourself known and seen to others. I’ve always wanted to be authentic and advertising sometimes makes me feel too scripted. But having my work speak for itself and sharing positive reviews has helped so much!

I am a birth doula who supports women/couples during pregnancy, birth and early postpartum. I provide educational support, physical support and emotional support through each stage.
I am an extremely passionate and empathetic person in my work and life. I put my all into my clients and truly care for them as family! I am well educated in all things related to birth, but physiological birth has a special place in my heart. I have had three unmedicated births, two of those being home births. Having that personal experience helps me prepare my clients and be able to offer them a personal account for what it takes to strive for an unmedicated birth. Of course birth unfolds in ways we can’t control, so I am well versed in all interventions and scenarios to help prepare clients for any outcome.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
That my clients and women in general will have an empowering birth experience! Women should feel heard and truly cared for during the most vulnerable and life changing time in their lives. This is a day that those families will always remember and their birth experience will effect so many things moving forward, such as physical healing, breastfeeding success, perinatal health outcomes: physical and mental, bonding with baby, etc.
