Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexxie Saputo.
Hi Lexxie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started taking photos of my friends with a digital camera around the age of 12, and by 16, I officially turned that passion into a business. I began with portraits and sports photography in high school as part of the yearbook staff, where I learned how to capture fast-paced, emotional moments.
Today, I intern with ECU Athletics and run Lexxie Madison Photography, specializing in seniors, couples, and weddings. My work is rooted in authentic storytelling, meaningful connections, and capturing moments that last far beyond the photo. Senior sessions are my most popular so I decided to start my very first Senior Rep Team! I have 7 seniors from the class of 2026 on my team.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t always been smooth. Photography is an expensive industry to enter, especially when you’re starting in high school with nothing more than a part-time job and a big dream. I began with a renewed Canon Rebel T6 I purchased online for about $600 and slowly built my business by saving, reinvesting, and learning as I went.
Starting my photography business at 16 required patience and discipline, and those lessons only deepened in college. With a more flexible schedule, I now balance three jobs alongside my coursework, running Lexxie Madison Photography, working as a marketing manager at Carolina Eagle Distributing, and teaching ballet and contemporary at At The Barre Dance Academy in Nashville, North Carolina and the internship with ECU Athletics. Juggling multiple roles hasn’t been easy, but it has sharpened my work ethic and strengthened my ability to manage both creativity and business.
Each challenge along the way has played a role in shaping my journey. What once felt like obstacles have become the foundation of a career built on persistence, passion, and constant growth.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in senior portraits, couples, and weddings, with a strong focus on storytelling and genuine connection. My work is known for feeling natural, timeless, and personal, capturing real emotion rather than overly posed moments.
I’m especially proud of the senior experience and rep team I’ve built, creating styled shoots and a community where seniors feel confident and celebrated. My background in sports photography and work with ECU Athletics has also shaped my ability to capture movement and emotion as it naturally unfolds.
What sets me apart is the way I blend creativity with strategy. With a background in communication and marketing, I focus not just on creating beautiful images, but on delivering an intentional, meaningful experience from start to finish.
What makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is creating meaningful connections and seeing people truly light up when they feel confident and seen. Photography allows me to turn real moments into lasting memories, and knowing my work becomes part of someone’s story is incredibly fulfilling. I love being able to do what I’m passionate about while building something that brings joy to others as well as myself.
