Hi Aiden Camara, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started pretty simple — I’ve always loved having a clean car, and with a red beard that stood out, the name just kind of made sense. Back in 2022, I was living in Vermont and started detailing on the side to save up for my honeymoon. Before I knew it, it turned into something more than just a side hustle.
When I moved to North Carolina in 2023, I kept it going here and there, picking up a few cars. Then in April of 2025, my brother-in-law Shawn and I detailed a vehicle together and realized we made a pretty solid team. That’s when we decided to really bring Red Beard’s back to life.
What started with just a bucket and a shop vac has turned into a fully insured, veteran-owned mobile detailing service. We’ve worked on everything from family SUVs to trucks and Teslas, and the best thing we hear is when someone says their car feels brand new again.
Where we are today is just the result of putting in the work, people spreading the word, and the community trusting us. We’re still growing, but we’ve built a reputation for being consistent, reliable, and detail-oriented. At the end of the day, Red Beard’s isn’t just about cars — it’s about taking care of people.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As always there is a learning curve but overall we were able to figure things out rather quickly. Shawn and I are both meticulous about detailing, so we already had an idea about products and processes but we have definitely been through some trial and error with products and chemicals.
Our biggest obstacle is time. Shawn and I both work full-time jobs during the week. Finding extra time for detailing and our families can challenging.

Red Beard’s Auto Spa was founded in 2022 by Aiden Camara in the mountains of Vermont, built on a passion for clean cars, hard work, and doing things the right way. What started as a one-man mobile detailing service quickly grew into something more.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
This business definitely hasn’t been built alone. First and foremost, Shawn’s Marine Corps service shaped the foundation of how we operate — the discipline, accountability, and service-first mindset that guide our work every day.
Beyond that, our families have been a huge source of support, especially through the early stages when we were learning, investing time, and taking risks. Having people who believed in the vision before it was fully formed made a real difference.
We’ve also been incredibly fortunate to have early clients in the New Bern community who took a chance on us, spread the word, and trusted us with their vehicles. Their feedback, encouragement, and referrals helped us grow faster and better than we could have on our own.
Finally, the local community itself deserves credit. Other small business owners, veterans, and neighbors have offered advice, support, and encouragement along the way. That sense of community is a big reason we’re proud to be veteran owned and even prouder to serve New Bern.
