Today we’d like to introduce you to Domonique Boone.
Hi Domonique , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In 2017, my mom wash machine stopped working. She called and said can you do my laundry. Of course me being the amazing daughter I am, I picked up my moms laundry, wash dry and folded the laundry, returned the laundry in 24 hours. Immediately Leslie’s Laundry Care was born. Leslie’s Laundry Care is named after my 10 year old daughter Leslie. Over the past 9 years, we have grown the business and we have one laundromat in center city Charlotte. We have partnership with national sports and entertainment such as Professional Golf Association (PGA), Charlotte Hornets, and United States Military.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to success has been challenging but with the grace of God, we have been able to succeed. The major hurdle we have experienced was the upfit of our laundromat with no funding from outside investors. The laundromat was closed for 20 years and we were able to bring this space to a functioning working laundromat to serve the community. I’m grateful for the process.
We’ve been impressed with Leslie’s Laundry Care , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Leslie’s Laundry Care is a mobile laundry and dry cleaning company that service North and South Carolina. We have transition to service only commercial clients. We are known from our story the most but importantly our quality of work. I’m so proud to be able to serve the community via Leslie’s Laundry Care Foundation 501c3 feeding homeless neighbors monthly alongside local nonprofits in the city of Charlotte. Community is my passion and my duty.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
If an entrepreneur is just starting out, have a relationship with God because there will be days you will not get paid. You will have to rely on faith and hope to keep going. I would advise to get a mentor in your industry.
