Hi Derrick , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I didn’t start out with a clear blueprint—just a strong sense that I was meant to build experiences, not just careers. Early on, I found myself naturally drawn to fashion, hospitality, and community, always paying attention to how spaces made people feel and how moments could be elevated with intention.
Like many creatives, my journey hasn’t been linear. I’ve had to pivot, rebuild, and refine my vision more than once, learning through hands-on experience what alignment actually looks like. Each chapter—whether in hospitality, branding, or creative direction—taught me how to connect people, tell stories, and design experiences that feel thoughtful and memorable.
Today, I’m based in Charlotte and work as a Lifestyle Architect and Experience Curator, blending fashion, hospitality, and community-building into brands and concepts that are rooted in intention and inclusivity. I’m less focused on titles and more focused on impact—creating spaces and experiences that feel elevated, welcoming, and real.
What’s kept me grounded through it all is trusting the process, even when the path wasn’t clear. I’ve learned that growth doesn’t always look like instant success—it often looks like consistency, self-belief, and the courage to keep showing up. I’m excited about what I’m building now and even more excited about what’s ahead.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been navigating growth without a traditional roadmap—building across fashion, hospitality, and community spaces while figuring things out in real time. There were seasons where I had to recalibrate, pivot, and rebuild without always having clear answers or immediate results.
I’ve also had to learn how to protect my vision and energy. Not everyone understands multi-hyphenate work or long-term thinking, and learning when to listen versus when to trust myself has been a major lesson.
Another challenge has been patience—understanding that alignment and sustainability matter more than speed. I’ve had moments where things didn’t move as quickly as I hoped, but those pauses forced me to refine my approach, strengthen my foundation, and become more intentional about what I’m building.
Overall, the challenges have shaped me into a more grounded, disciplined, and self-aware creator and entrepreneur. I don’t see them as setbacks as much as preparation for what I’m stepping into now.

My work lives at the intersection of creativity, fashion, hospitality, and community. As a Lifestyle Architect and Experience Curator, I focus on designing environments, moments, and brands that feel intentional, elevated, and welcoming.
I’m naturally drawn to the details—how people move through a space, how an experience feels from start to finish, and how storytelling shows up through fashion, atmosphere, and service. My background spans hospitality, brand strategy, and creative direction, which allows me to approach projects holistically rather than from a single lens.
Much of my work is rooted in connection—bringing people together through curated experiences, thoughtful design, and concepts that feel inclusive and culturally aware. I don’t believe creativity exists in isolation; it thrives when it’s paired with purpose and community.
At this stage of my career, I’m focused on building and expanding concepts that reflect my values while continuing to refine my voice as a creative. The goal is sustainability, impact, and growth—creating work that not only looks good, but feels meaningful.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I had a big personality paired with a deep sense of curiosity and imagination. I wasn’t shy about expressing myself and was often described as confident, observant, and thoughtful. Even at a young age, I was drawn to creativity—fashion, music, storytelling, and visual expression were all ways I made sense of the world around me.
I had a natural eye for style early on, whether that meant drawing clothing, dressing myself with intention, or finding creative ways to express individuality. Fashion, in particular, became a language for me before I even realized it—something that allowed me to communicate how I felt without needing many words.
At the same time, I valued independence and reflection. I was comfortable spending time on my own, following my interests, and trusting my instincts. I wasn’t afraid to talk to people or stand out, but I was also selective, guided by a strong sense of right and wrong.
Looking back, the common thread was always self-expression and awareness—understanding energy, people, and environment. Those early traits naturally evolved into the work I do today, centered on creativity, connection, and helping others feel seen and confident.
