Check Out Ryan Perry’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Perry.

Hi Ryan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got started in my photography business through drone photography. I needed to get my part 107 drone license for a job and once I had that I started to learn more about photography and cinematography. As I learned more my interest grew and before I knew it some friends of mine who were real estate agents were asking me if I could help them with their listings. I shot one or two properties for free to help them out and then 2020 hit. As covid made my old job more difficult I saw an opportunity to explore a new career working as a photographer. I talked with a few other photographers and realtors in my area and decided it was something I could make work so I took the leap and started a Real Estate Photography business. I have been working full time doing this ever since.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I had a fairly smooth start to my business but it did take time to get things off the ground. I never expected to be fully booked my first week or month so I tried to remind myself that and spent all my free time working on learning and training new skills. I made progress slowly at first then in my second year things really started to take off and I have been trying to keep up ever since.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Real Estate Photographer. I offer realtors everything they would need to list a property on the MLS. I offer photos on a tripod and from a drone, social media marketing videos as well as longer format property videos, I measure houses and offer professional floor plans, and I also can capture Zillow 3D tours. I make things easy for realtors because I can be a one stop shop for multiple services they need on their listings. I am a licenses real estate broker which allows me to measure houses for them and meet MLS compliance. What really sets me apart from others isn’t that though, what sets me apart is that I try to make things work for Realtors. I have sold houses I have been a Realtor working at a brokerage. I know how hard their job can be and how tight their timelines often are. If there is a way to make it work I will do my best to take care of my clients as much as I can so that they can take care of their clients the best way possible.

What’s next?
I really enjoy keeping my focus on working hard and doing the best I can everyday. I want to keep my main focus on my main thing and while I am always working on short and long term goals, I don’t have anything I can share yet. I would say there are some big changes coming later this year though and I’m excited for the future.
