Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Barnes.
Andrea, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story is one of growth, resilience, and faith.
As a child I did not feel that I fit in anywhere, learing that I was adopted at a very young age, while experiencing abuse and trauma changed the way o percieved the world and my place in it. Through every trial and tribulation, I developed a deeper sense of purpose and determination. I will always ask God for forgiveness for not being able to be the mother I wanted to be by becoming a mother at a very early age and not knowing what steps to take to ensure my children had the best life. Today my children are some of the best people I know! They are my best friends and I look up to them for what they have fought through and overcome. My children are a vital part in my becoming who I am today, it took me years to get to the person that I am and still becoming. There were times in my life when I made decisions from a place of trauma and past abuse, operating in survival mode rather than from a place of healing. These past traumas dictated how I parented at such a young age and how I would see myself as a mother.
Those experiences influenced how I saw myself, how I trusted others, and the choices I made. Over time, I began to recognize those patterns and intentionally work to grow beyond them. I learned how to push forward even when things weren’t easy, how to adapt, and how to create opportunities instead of waiting for them. I made a conscious decision to no longer let my past dictate my future, choosing instead to heal, grow, and make decisions rooted in purpose rather than pain.
That mindset led me into working with individuals that experienced the same traumas and walked some of the same paths as I once did. This was a very fullfilling career, yet very emotionally taxing. While searching for myself and trying to be a better mother and individual I met my now amazing husband and we have navigated parenting, marriage partnership, faith, business and so much more.
We stepped into the roofing business where we now own and operate a roofing company Barnes Restoration, INC. What started as an opportunity turned into a passion for helping homeowners protect one of their most important investments. Building that business together has taught me leadership, discipline, partnership, and the value of serving others with integrity.
At the same time, I expanded into becoming a life insurance agent. That decision came from a personal understanding of how important it is to protect families—not just physically, but financially. I wanted to be in a position to help others secure their future and create peace of mind for their loved ones.
Today, I stand as a woman that believes that God will provide in ways no individual can, if you truly seek after him there will always be room for growth. I stand as a partner in business, a licensed professional, and most importantly, a mother who turned obstacles into stepping stepping stones. My journey is proof that where you start doesn’t determine where you can go—what matters is your willingness to grow, stay committed, and keep moving forward.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been smooth, the road has been bearable! The struggle to create finacial stability, to be determined to keep going in the face of adversity.
Keep pushing even when you cant see the silver lining!
As you know, we’re big fans of Barnes Restoration INC, NASB Life Insurance Agent . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
With Barnes Restoration Inc., we provide a wide range of services within the restoration field. Our services include full roof replacements, repairs, assistance with insurance claims, and emergency services such as “dry-in” protection.
I am incredibly proud of this company, as we have remained strong through economic ups and downs. We are committed to helping those in need—even if we are unable to provide a specific service, we make it a priority to connect clients with trusted referrals. We have been in business since 2018, and roofing has been my husband’s profession since he was 15 years old.
Although we are a smaller company, we operate with a big heart. We treat every customer with fairness, honesty, and competitive pricing. What sets us apart from many larger companies is our personal approach—you will always connect with a real person who genuinely cares about protecting your greatest investment by delivering quality service.
In addition to running our business, I also work full-time as a Licensed Agent with NASB Powerhouse Team. In this role, I assist families in securing coverage for final expenses, helping provide peace of mind for their loved ones. I am honored to serve my community, both locally and beyond, by offering solutions tailored to each family’s unique needs. I am currently licensed in North Carolina as well as several other states.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite child hood memory was walking to the town bakery and getting slices of honeybun cake and cookies.
