Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Pace Davis.
Hi Michelle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The Pace Family has been involved in the Archer Lodge Community for over a hundred years. The family has been farming during this time a variety of crops with tobacco being the main staple. In the fall of 2016, the family took a leap of faith by beginning to diversify the row crop farm into produce and agritourism. The fall of 2016 was the planting of the first u-pick strawberries and the farm has slowly evovled since! From adding produce year-round for local consumers, a CSA produce subscribtion program, raising their own beef and pork, and more.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As with any farm, challenges include market prices, the weather and more!
