Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Flippin.
Hi Ashley, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started teaching Pilates shortly after moving to North Carolina. Someone invited me to a reformer class and I fell in love and decided to go through the training to teach. I’ve always loved fitness and I liked that it was sneaky hard and fun! A few years later, I got my 500 hours certification through Club Pilates and taught there for 6 years and also managed a couple studios. I have always wanted to start my own business and when I heard about Pilates Addiction, I was intrigued. I told my husband about it and a few weeks later I was in California seeing what Pilates Addiction was all about! I loved the concept of one machine with 4 different components combined, I love the vibe and look of the studio, and the classes are challenging. I was sold and haven’t looked back.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We had a few hiccups in the beginning but it really has been pretty smooth! Thanks to the guidance at corporate level and all of our vendors are knowledgeable and great to work with. The community has welcomed us with open arms. Very thankful!
As you know, we’re big fans of Pilates Addiction Wake Forest. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a brand new reformer based Pilates studio that is modern and high energy from the moment you walk in. We will have 12 patented Aurum reformers. These are exclusive to Pilates Addiction and they combine 4 pieces of equipment into one machine-the Wunda chair, reformer, jumpboard and ballet bar. We will offer 4 different class types-Ignite, Core+, Max and Mobility Rx. We will also offer private training for someone that wants 1-on-1 personalized training. All of our educators are certified through Pilates Addiction training program. We will be open 7 days a week offering as early as 5am and as late as 7:30pm. We offer 3 different membership options and will offer class packages and drop ins once open. We are opening mid June.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was active, always playing outside. I loved to change clothes 6 times a day and play dress up as well. I used to teach all my dolls and stuffed animals. I always thought I’d be a school teacher or fashion designer/boutique owner one day.
