Community Highlights: Meet Courtney Hall of Bump.Baby.Bliss. Doula, Counseling & Ultrasound Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Hall.

Hi Courtney, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey started with a deep passion for helping people and advocating for families, especially mothers during pregnancy and postpartum. I began my career in social work over 14 years ago, serving in several areas including school social work, community mental health, dialysis social work, and leadership roles within mental health services. Throughout those experiences, I consistently saw how often women and families lacked emotional support, education, and culturally responsive care during some of the most important moments of their lives.

As I became a wife and mother myself, my passion for maternal health grew even stronger. I realized that many families were navigating pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, and mental wellness without the support they truly deserved. That led me to become a Certified Birth Doula and eventually combine my clinical background in social work and mental health with hands-on maternal support services.

From there, I founded Bump.Baby.Bliss. Doula, Counseling, & Ultrasound Studio in Greensboro, North Carolina. What started as a vision to support women holistically has grown into a maternal wellness space that offers doula services, counseling, ultrasounds, childbirth education, postpartum support, and resources for families throughout every stage of their journey. My mission has always been to remind families that pre- and postpartum care is a necessity, not a luxury.

Along the way, I’ve also become passionate about mentoring aspiring doulas, speaking to students and professionals, creating community programs, and advocating for better maternal mental health outcomes especially for underserved communities. Entrepreneurship has come with challenges, sacrifices, and many learning experiences, but it has also been incredibly rewarding to build something that reflects both my professional purpose and personal heart.

Today, I continue balancing motherhood, marriage, business ownership, and community advocacy while working to expand the impact of Bump.Baby.Bliss. and create spaces where women feel seen, supported, educated, and empowered.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs and helping professionals, there were a lot of moments that required faith, resilience, and learning along the way.

One of the biggest challenges was balancing multiple roles at once being a wife, mother of three, social worker, doula, and business owner while trying to build something meaningful from the ground up. There were seasons where I was working long hours, pouring into everyone else, and still trying to figure out how to prioritize myself and my own well-being.

Another challenge was transitioning from the security of traditional employment into entrepreneurship. Leaving behind stable systems and stepping fully into business ownership came with financial risks, uncertainty, and pressure. Building a maternal wellness business also means educating people on why these services matter, because many families still see doula care, mental health support, or postpartum care as luxuries instead of necessities.

There were also challenges that came with growth learning how to delegate, create systems, manage a team, market consistently, and avoid burnout. As someone who genuinely cares about people, it can sometimes be difficult separating passion from overextending yourself.

On top of that, maternal health advocacy especially within underserved communities can be emotionally heavy work. Hearing women’s stories, seeing disparities firsthand, and wanting to create change can be both motivating and heartbreaking at the same time.

But every obstacle helped shape the vision even more clearly. The struggles taught me how to lead with authenticity, build community, trust my voice, and create a business rooted in purpose instead of just profit. Looking back, I think those difficult seasons are what made Bump.Baby.Bliss. what it is today.

We’ve been impressed with Bump.Baby.Bliss. Doula, Counseling & Ultrasound Studio, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

We offer a unique combination of services including birth doula support, counseling and mental wellness services, non-medical ultrasounds, childbirth education, postpartum support, breastfeeding guidance, and keepsake experiences like our heartbeat bears. Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where families feel seen, heard, educated, and empowered throughout their journey into parenthood.

What makes Bump.Baby.Bliss. different is that we combine emotional support, advocacy, education, and wellness under one roof. My background as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate and Certified Birth Doula allows me to approach care from both a clinical and compassionate perspective. We understand that pregnancy and postpartum experiences are not just physical they are emotional, mental, relational, and deeply personal. Because of that, we focus heavily on creating individualized experiences that center the family’s needs, culture, values, and voice.

We are especially passionate about maternal mental health and supporting underserved communities. Advocacy is a huge part of our mission. We want families to know that pre- and postpartum care is a necessity, not a luxury. Whether someone is coming to us for an ultrasound experience, therapy support, doula care, or simply reassurance during pregnancy, we want them to leave feeling more confident and supported than when they arrived.

One thing I’m especially proud of brand-wise is the atmosphere and community we’ve built. Bump.Baby.Bliss. has become more than just a business it’s become a trusted space where families can laugh, cry, learn, celebrate milestones, and receive support without judgment. We’ve worked hard to create a brand that feels professional, warm, culturally aware, and approachable all at the same time.

I’m also proud that our brand continues to grow beyond services alone. We’ve expanded into education, mentorship, support groups, community partnerships, speaking engagements, and digital resources designed to empower both families and aspiring doulas. Everything we create is rooted in authenticity, compassion, and a genuine desire to improve maternal wellness outcomes.

Above all, I want readers to know that Bump.Baby.Bliss. was built with heart. Every service, every event, every conversation, and every resource is created with the intention of helping families feel supported during one of the most important seasons of their lives.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
First and foremost, I give all glory to God. My faith has carried me through some of the most challenging and uncertain moments in both life and business. There were many seasons that required strength, patience, sacrifice, and trusting the vision even when things felt difficult. God has truly been the foundation of my journey and continues to guide me personally and professionally.

My family has also played a huge role in my success. Being a wife, mother, and entrepreneur comes with many responsibilities, and having support at home has meant everything to me. My children especially are a big part of my motivation and purpose. They inspire me daily to continue building something impactful, meaningful, and lasting.

I’m also incredibly thankful for the clients and families who have trusted Bump.Baby.Bliss. throughout the years. Every family that has allowed me to be part of their pregnancy, birth, postpartum, or mental wellness journey has helped shape this business into what it is today. Their trust, referrals, support, and kind words have helped the brand continue to grow within the community.

In addition, I’m grateful for the support from my community, local organizations, partnerships, and those who have encouraged the vision along the way. Whether through collaboration, opportunities, attending events, sharing resources, or simply speaking life into me during challenging moments, their support has truly mattered.

I also appreciate my team, interns, contractors, and those who help behind the scenes. Building a business centered around serving others takes dedication and support from many people, and I’m thankful for everyone who has contributed their time, energy, and belief in the mission of Bump.Baby.Bliss.

At the end of the day, this journey has been built on faith, purpose, perseverance, community support, and a genuine passion for helping families feel seen, supported, and empowered.
