Daily Inspiration: Meet Mikea Nash

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikea Nash.

Mikea, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
“I got to where I am today through obedience to God’s calling on my life to serve others. I spent half of my career in the medical field, where I learned discipline, compassion, and care for people. After becoming a wife and mother, I realized the demands of the healthcare schedule no longer aligned with the life I needed to build for my family.

That season became a turning point for me. Instead of seeing it as a setback, I embraced it as direction. I chose to take what started as a side hustle and turn it into a business—and ultimately a career—built around my purpose, my gifts, and my family.”

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Yes, it was very challenging in the beginning. You don’t make money right away—it’s more about building yourself and showing what you’re capable of. As long as you stay teachable and willing to learn, you can push through any challenge.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a licensed hair stylist specializing in locs and natural hair care. I focus on healthy hair maintenance, loc installations, retwists, and styles that enhance the beauty of natural hair while keeping it strong and well cared for. I’m known for my attention to detail, healthy hair approach, and creating styles that make my clients feel confident and beautiful.

What I’m most proud of is building my business from a side hustle into a full-time career while balancing life as a wife and mother. It wasn’t an easy journey, but it taught me discipline, faith, and consistency.

What sets me apart is that I don’t just focus on styling hair—I focus on the health of the hair and the experience. I listen to my clients, educate them on their hair journey, and make sure they feel cared for every step of the way.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Having patience
