Today we’d like to introduce you to Seshu Singh.
Hi Seshu, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was always the kid with a pencil and sketch pad in my hand. I loved sketching and drawing as a kid. I would doodle in the margins of my notebooks or any blank piece of paper. Art and design have always been a passion of mine. My formal education was in Nutrition, Hospitality Management and an MBA. I never gave up my interest in art and design. I got a Graphic Design & Web Design Certificate a few years ago and I have been a freelance designer for over a decade. I currently work as a freelance designer and I am in the process of revamping my Etsy shop that sells greeting cards and digital art.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life is never a smooth road for most people. I loved being a stay-at-home mom. However, coming back into the workforce as a middle-aged woman has been difficult. Those of us who are now becoming empty nesters are facing irrelevance, indifference and AI. I don’t really think about this daily, my vision is to be the artist that I want to be.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I love creating art and designs. Whether it is figures for a Stanford professor or a Chicago dentist, I love it all. My life experiences have helped my creative vision. I have traveled to some interesting countries over the past few decades and have been inspired by the history and art around me. I specialize in digital art. I use the Adobe creative suite to create my designs along with ProCreate. I am known for my handcut greeting cards and digital art. What sets me apart is that I can work with traditional art materials and work with digital tools.
