Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebekah Nelson.
Hi Rebekah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My family moved to North Carolina 5 years ago amidst the pandemic and needing a change from the cold, bitter winters of the Midwest. When we moved here we noticed quickly the lack of local, handmade donuts in the area and were missing our favorite local joint from our hometown.
I started looking into the idea of opening my own shop in the fall of 2025, first as possibly a food truck, but ultimately decided it needed to be a storefront. An opportunity to share a space became available soon after we started looking into the idea and realized it was truly a possibility we could manage!
We decided to take a leap of faith and share a space to get us started. Unfortunately, the excitement did not last long as we were quickly faced with the need to relocate our shop. In a short span of time, we managed to find an opportunity in our new location in Holly Springs to share a space again and expand our offerings to include amazing beverages. We are excited to now be in Holly Springs and bring a new twist to donuts – air fried and all handmade fresh every morning! We also partnered with an amazing coffee roaster to offer premium coffee beverages. We are so excited to bring a small, local shop to Holly Springs and cannot wait to see how the community loves all the donuts and beverages we are offering.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Our biggest obstacle was being faced with relocating our business after less than 5 months in business. We were not financially stable enough to absorb this cost. Our family took another big leap of faith and put our own safety net into the shop, knowing what we are offering is worth it and think the community will absolutely be blown away!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I spent my early adult life in the restaurant and catering business, doing baked goods on the side. I’ve always had a passion for food and the art of baking. Making custom cakes was a passion of mine so I’m very excited to bring my love of the art of food back into my life with these fun donuts!
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Our shop was designed for small, local business in mind. We treat every guest like family, always willing to customize a donut or drink just how you like it. If we have it, we will do it!
Come on down to 300 N Main St (inside the convenience store on the corner) and give us a try. We think the community will fall in love with the lightness and less greasy feel of air fried donuts.
