Today we’d like to introduce you to Debra Southern.

Hi Debra, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into short-term rentals grew naturally from my background in real estate. I saw an opportunity to combine real estate investing with hospitality by creating comfortable, well-designed vacation homes for travelers and families.

What started with one property has grown into multiple successful short-term rentals through a focus on quality, guest experience, and attention to detail. I enjoy helping guests create great memories while building a business centered around properties I’m passionate about.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a relatively smooth journey because I spent a couple of years studying the short-term rental industry before getting started. That preparation helped me avoid some of the common mistakes. That said, every property has taught me something new. I’m always making small changes based on what I learn from guests and day-to-day operations. For example, I avoid nightstands with drawers because people often leave items behind, and I use open shelving in closets so guests can easily see and access their belongings. Each house gets a little better as I continue to learn what works best.

I specialize in short-term vacation rentals designed to feel more like a home than a typical rental. We create comfortable spaces where families and groups can relax and make lasting memories.

What sets us apart is our attention to detail. Every property is thoughtfully furnished and equipped with amenities guests appreciate, including heated toilet seats, which are mentioned often in reviews. We continually improve the guest experience based on guest feedback.

I am most proud of the reputation we have built for quality, cleanliness, and exceptional guest experiences. Our goal is to provide a stay that feels welcoming, comfortable, and memorable.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I owe much of its success to the incredible people who support the business behind the scenes. Our cleaning team helps maintain the high standards of cleanliness and presentation that guests consistently praise. Their attention to detail ensures every property is welcoming and guest-ready.

My husband has also become an essential part of the business. He has joined me in maintaining the properties and is our go-to handyman, helping with repairs, improvements, and all the little things that keep everything running smoothly. His support allows us to continually enhance our homes and provide the best possible experience for our guests.
