Hi Katherine , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi everyone, I’m Katherine aka TheHighHeeledGamer! I have been a TheHighHeeledGamer for the past 14 years, and I have been streaming video games for the past 9 years. I have always wanted to work in the gaming industry as a writer or journalist, but I decided to start my family first. Once my children were old enough, I decided to revive my dream, and I started my brand. I go to conventions on the East Coast, interviewing people in the gaming, comic book, and cosplay industries.
While interviewing a popular Call of Duty player, I told him I wish I could do what he does, and he simply said, “If I can do it, anyone can do it.” He promised that if I did start streaming, he would help me and guide me, and he did. I grew my community to get partnerships and affiliations and give a platform for people to tell their stories.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road completely, but the important things in life aren’t smooth. Having to create something from nothing is not easy because I had family members who did not understand what I was trying to create. I had to wear all the hats: creator, editor, accountant, marketer, teacher and student. I posted content to get 2 or 3 likes, I streamed to 1 viewer… my husband, and I never realized that I had so much self-doubt. But for every bumpy road, there is a smooth side. My husband, 3 children, sister, and best friend cheered me on and helped me wherever they could, I reached out to a convention and told them what I was doing with my brand and they took a chance on me and gave me my 1st press pass, which opened doors to other conventions. No one is going to make your dreams come true, but if you put in the work, the payoff will be rewarding.

Through TheHighHeeledGamer, I have created The Late Night Nerd Show podcast on YouTube, where I interview people in the gaming, comic book, and cosplay industries. People come on the show to promote any projects they are working on. I also travel the East Coast, attending different conventions, taking pictures, videos, and interviewing creators at these conventions.
I am a variety streamer, but I mainly play Fortnite because I am an Epic Games Partner. Little fun fact, as TheHighHeeledGamer, I have a show camera that shows off very unique high heels shoes, and there are new shoes every month. I have had that camera since 2021. It’s a fun little extra added touch to my stream.
