Hi Raja-Nee, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Raja-Nee Bailey, and I’m the owner of Fully Loaded Aesthetics in Durham, NC. I’m a licensed esthetician, lash artist, and beauty educator with a passion for helping people feel confident and beautiful.
My journey started in 2018 when I took a chance on myself and enrolled in a lash training class with only $500 to my name. What began as a side hustle quickly grew into a successful beauty business. In 2022, I became a licensed esthetician and expanded my services beyond lashes.
Today, Fully Loaded Aesthetics offers lashes, skincare, brows, waxing, makeup, and beauty training. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and excited to continue growing my brand while inspiring others to take a chance on themselves too.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Entrepreneurship has definitely not been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges was building a business from the ground up with limited resources and no blueprint. When I started lashing in 2018, I only had $500 to my name and took a chance on myself.
Over the years, I’ve faced slow seasons, self-doubt, balancing multiple jobs, and the pressure that comes with being responsible for your own success. I’ve also had to learn how to adapt as the beauty industry changes and continue investing in my education and business growth.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that consistency matters more than perfection. Every challenge has helped me become a better business owner, and I’m grateful for the journey because it has shaped the person and entrepreneur I am today.

As a beauty professional, I love combining artistry with confidence-building. Every client is different, so I focus on creating customized looks that fit their features, lifestyle, and personality rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
I specialize in enhancing natural beauty through lashes, skincare, brows, makeup, and other aesthetic services. What excites me most is seeing a client look in the mirror and instantly feel more confident.
I’m especially proud of creating a brand that continues to evolve with the needs of my clients. Over the years, I’ve expanded beyond lashes and focused on providing a complete beauty experience while also educating and mentoring aspiring beauty professionals.
What sets me apart is that I genuinely care about the experience as much as the result. I want every client to feel comfortable, heard, and valued from the moment they walk in. Beauty is about more than appearances—it’s about how you feel, and that’s the impact I strive to make every day.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up in Henderson, North Carolina, I was always creative, outgoing, and a little different. In fact, I was voted “Most Unique” in my senior yearbook, which honestly describes me pretty well. I’ve always enjoyed expressing myself through fashion, beauty, and creativity, and I’ve never been afraid to stand out from the crowd.
I was also very social and loved connecting with people from different backgrounds. Looking back, I can see that I had an entrepreneurial mindset from a young age. I was ambitious, independent, and always looking for ways to create opportunities for myself.
Those qualities have stayed with me into adulthood and have played a huge role in building my business. I’ve always believed in taking chances, being authentic, and creating my own path rather than following someone else’s.
