Meet Shavannah Moore of Moore Than Coaching, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shavannah Moore.

Hi Shavannah , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
For much of my life, I was the person with big dreams but limited resources. I grew up facing poverty, insecurity, rejection, and challenges that often made me question my worth and whether my voice truly mattered. Like many people, I spent years allowing my circumstances to define me rather than seeing them as preparation for my purpose.

What I didn’t realize at the time was that every obstacle I faced was helping shape the message and mission I would eventually build my life around.

My journey began with a passion for helping people. Long before I became an entrepreneur, speaker, actress, or coach, I was the person friends, family, and colleagues turned to for encouragement, guidance, and perspective. As I continued investing in personal development, leadership, communication, and storytelling, I began to recognize that my experiences weren’t something to hide, they were my greatest asset.

I eventually founded Moore Than Coaching, a personal and professional development company dedicated to helping individuals leverage their stories to create impact, influence, and income. Through keynote speaking, coaching, workshops, and storytelling programs, I help entrepreneurs, leaders, and organizations communicate with confidence, build authentic connections, and step into their purpose.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of speaking on stages, appearing on national media platforms including The Rachael Ray Show, Dr. Oz, Tamron Hall, and CBS. Also hosting events and doing interviews/working with notable personalities such as Larenz Tate & Gammy Norris and expanding my work into acting and film. Most recently, I have stepped into lead roles in multiple upcoming film projects, further demonstrating the power of storytelling across different platforms.

Today, I wear many hats; CEO, speaker, storyteller, emcee, and actress, but at the core of everything I do is one mission: helping people reclaim their voice, own their story, and realize that their experiences have the power to transform not only their lives, but the lives of others.

My journey is proof that where you start does not determine where you finish. With resilience, faith, and a willingness to keep showing up, it’s possible to turn your greatest challenges into your greatest purpose.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. In many ways, my journey has been anything but smooth, but those challenges have ultimately shaped the person, leader, and entrepreneur I am today.

Like many entrepreneurs, I started with a vision that was much bigger than my resources. I faced financial hardships, self-doubt, rejection, and seasons where it felt like everyone else was moving forward while I was simply trying to stay afloat. There were moments when I questioned whether I was qualified, whether my voice mattered, and whether I was truly capable of building the life and business I envisioned.

One of my biggest struggles wasn’t external, it was internal. I had to overcome the limiting beliefs I had developed from years of feeling overlooked, unheard, and underestimated. I realized that before I could build a successful business, I first had to rebuild my confidence and identity.

There were also practical challenges that come with entrepreneurship: learning how to market myself, develop offers, generate consistent revenue, build systems, and wear multiple hats while balancing motherhood, leadership, and personal growth.

What carried me through those seasons was faith, resilience, and a commitment to keep moving forward even when I couldn’t see the full picture. Looking back, I’m grateful for every setback because each one taught me something that success alone never could. Those experiences gave me the wisdom, empathy, and perspective that now allow me to serve others at a deeper level.

Today, when I help people find their voice and own their story, I’m not speaking from theory, I’m speaking from experience.

As you know, we’re big fans of Moore Than Coaching, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am the Founder and CEO of Moore Than Coaching, a personal and professional development company dedicated to helping individuals leverage their stories, experiences, and voices to create impact, influence, and income.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: everyone has a story, but not everyone knows how to use it effectively.

Through keynote speaking, coaching, workshops, storytelling intensives, media training, and leadership development programs, I help entrepreneurs, professionals, and organizations communicate with confidence, build authentic connections, and position themselves as authorities in their industries.

What I’m most known for is helping people transform their lived experiences into powerful tools for visibility, leadership, and opportunity. Whether I’m working with a business owner trying to attract clients, a leader preparing for a stage, or an organization looking to strengthen communication and culture, storytelling is often the missing piece.

What sets me apart is that I don’t just teach communication, I teach transformation. My work sits at the intersection of identity, mindset, leadership, and storytelling. Before someone can communicate their value to the world, they must first recognize it within themselves.

Over the years, I’ve developed signature frameworks such as R.E.C.L.A.I.M.™, which helps individuals reclaim their voice, confidence, and purpose, and S.T.O.R.I.™, a storytelling methodology designed to help people communicate with clarity and impact.

Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is the transformation I witness in the people I serve. Watching someone go from doubting themselves to confidently owning their story, stepping onto stages, securing opportunities, launching businesses, or becoming visible in ways they never thought possible is incredibly rewarding.

If there’s one thing I want readers to know about my brand, it’s that we believe your story is more than something you’ve survived, it’s one of your greatest assets. When you learn how to own it, position it, and share it with intention, it has the power to change your life and the lives of others.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that your story is not your limitation, it’s your leverage.

For years, I viewed many of my experiences through the lens of what I lacked rather than what they were preparing me for. I focused on the setbacks, the rejection, the financial struggles, the insecurities, and the moments when I felt overlooked. What I eventually realized is that those experiences weren’t obstacles to my purpose; they were equipping me for it.

I learned that success isn’t simply about acquiring more skills, credentials, or opportunities. It’s about having the courage to own who you are, embrace your journey, and show up authentically. The moment I stopped hiding parts of my story and started leveraging them, everything began to change. My confidence grew, my impact expanded, and opportunities began to align with who I truly was rather than who I thought I needed to be.

I’ve also learned that resilience is less about never falling and more about refusing to stay down. Every challenge I’ve faced has taught me something valuable about faith, perseverance, leadership, and self-worth.

Today, one of the core messages I share with audiences around the world is that the very thing you’ve been through may be the very thing that qualifies you to help someone else. When you stop seeing your story as something to overcome and start seeing it as something to own, you unlock a level of purpose, influence, and impact that you may have never thought possible.
