Hi Lar’e, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my official business in 2018 with just a logo and a vision. Entertainment has been my passion since a kid from being in drama classes, step teams, basketball and more. My passion first set sail writing poetry. Poetry was very therapeutic for me providing an outlet without speaking. In my surroundings, expression was frowned upon so I spoke to the pen and paper. From poetry came the passion for music. My mother dated a famous DJ and he showed me the business side of music, at the same rate of showing me notes on the keys. I started my first entertainment label in high school. Insyte Entertainment was my first entertainment company. I discovered 4 artist along with myself and made history! From then I have done movies, worked with major entertainment corporations, city campaigns for seat races as well as presidential, offering promotional help starring and acting in commercials etc. I rebranded my company with purpleheartedllc in 2018 introducing Purplehearted.com providing Fast channel TV services(Cat’s BabyTV), Clothing apparel(Lar’e De”Vera Brand), music(@MrRaleighNC), Art festivals (CEL FEST) and more. My goal is to become the leading source of entertainment in North Carolina highlighting our very own. We offer locals the opportunity to showcase their vision to a larger scale worldwide on our platform. We encourage artists and creators to to reach out and work with us!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
not a smooth road, actually quite rocky. finances has been the biggest struggle being that it takes a while for the vision to profit. receiving little support from friends and family was the biggest lesson learned. no one shares your vision, its yours! I also started having kids so that definitely redirected the process. I have had alot of doors closed in my face but that one yes out weighed the no’s
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Im known for good business, music (hiphop) and festivals. I am most proud of my kids the thing thats sets me apart from others is that I know when to teach and I know when to learn.
