Hi Brittany, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hi, my name is Brittany. I have been in the hair industry for over 15 years. My passion for hair began at the age of 12, when I started styling the hair of classmates, teachers, family, and friends in my neighborhood.
Today, I am a licensed hairstylist and proud single mother to an amazing young man. I specialize in natural hair care and am passionate about helping clients achieve healthy, thriving hair. As I continue to grow in my career, I am expanding my expertise to serve individuals experiencing hair loss, restoring not only their hair but also their confidence.
Prophetic Hands Hair Salon and Spa is a Christian-based salon dedicated to nurturing both the hair and the spirit. My mission is to create a welcoming environment where every client feels valued, encouraged, and leaves looking and feeling their very best.
I am grateful for this journey and look forward to many more years of serving my community and making a positive impact in the beauty industry.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
By no means has this journey been easy. Along the way, I have faced numerous trials and challenges that have shaped me into the woman and business owner I am today. As a woman of faith, I have learned to seek God more deeply than ever before, and that dependence on Him is reflected in both my business and my personal life.
This is actually my second opportunity to reopen my own salon. Even this time, I wrestled with doubt, fear of failure, and uncertainty about whether I was truly walking in the direction God had called me to. Through prayer, self-reflection, and an unwavering passion for serving others, I found the confirmation I needed. Today, I can confidently say that this is exactly where God has called me to be in this season of my life.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
One of the things I am most proud of as a hairstylist is my versatility. While I specialize in natural hair care, my experience extends far beyond one area of the industry. I proudly provide services for men, women, and children of all hair types, textures, and backgrounds.
My experience working in various cutting salons has allowed me to master precision haircutting, particularly men’s grooming, while also expanding my knowledge of working with diverse hair textures and cultures. That well-rounded experience has shaped me into the stylist I am today.
Beyond serving clients behind the chair, I am passionate about pouring back into my community. I teach children’s hair care classes that educate and empower young people with practical hair care skills while helping them build confidence and pride in caring for themselves. At Prophetic Hands Hair Salon and Spa, my goal is to be a true one-stop salon where every client feels welcome, cared for, and confident that their hair needs can be met with excellence.
What are your plans for the future?
At this stage of my journey, I am proudly operating out of a salon suite, which has allowed me to build meaningful relationships with my clients while continuing to grow my business. But, Looking ahead, I am excited to expand into my own full-service salon and spa, creating a welcoming space where beauty, excellence, and faith come together to serve the community.
